I'm still very happy with having more time for a poll, because my time is full of stuff and I had trouble keeping pace with the faster rhythm.

I'm happy with the "more time", since that made me feel not bad about mentioning three. I had just planned to go with one of those, but this will me give a chance to listen to alternates from others, and time for me to decide which of the three I shall go for (I was going to go with the Bauhaus since it is a sentimental fave that I genuinely wanted as my wedding song).
A few lightning rounds might be fun here and there just to switch things up. It's more when everyone only mentions one that I think they could run more like in the original, and then when its limited to three days to nominate, there likely would be fewer nominations too. |

Sorry for not responding on all of this, my mind was very elsewhere. I really enjoyed it and loved the theme, and you did an excellent job with your opening post in setting up the parameters. There’s a big part of me that wishes that all of the interactive topics would go on forever, and at the same time I crave more and more. That’s a sign of addiction, and I’m sure that I’m not the only Interactive Poll junkie here. When I check in on this forum, seeing what new comments have been made and what music has been added to it is my first desire. I think I’d even be having interactive poll dreams if my head wasn’t so filled with electric sheep. --------------------------------------------------------- This is likely not worth a new post, so editing this in: Scheduling could be a hassle and I wouldn't want to overcomplicate ideas, but this just popped into my head while showering, so it may just be a case of water on the brain. Not for all, but sometimes the following might help with the topic starters schedules and what not. To get "some" faster turnaround when desired or advantageous in some way on a case by case basis and if agreed to by at least two parties, we could have some sequential Interactive topics that do overlap -- one is still doing the voting process over a week, while the other is doing the nomination process. "Interactive Poll A" might start on January 1, and still keep the nomination process for about a week and then the options are added. "Interactive Poll B" could start with the nomination round when Poll A has its options up to vote. Then when Poll A is done with officially voting (although people can still vote and comment if they like), Poll B will move or has just moved into the voting process. So that way a nomination round in one poll and a voting round in another would overlap for about a week. Maybe that will still be too onerous on some, and they would want a full two weeks to be able to listen through other peoples choices ,and comment, and just focus on one. I can totally get why people would rather only focus one of the polls at a time. Having read the OP, I find nominating my choices very easy, and don't give it that much thought to be honest as I just go with those I know and can mentally associate with the topic, and ones come to mind immediately and I lie it best when I just go with those. Its the listening and commenting that becomes more of the issue (not so hard if only only listens to the nominations, but then I know people, and I do too, often want to listen to them all a few times before going with one. That part does take more thought and effort for me, and I would guess most people. This is not really a suggestion, just a possible idea to maybe consider that I am throwing out there. I know I am impatient but i am curious and ready for the next round. What are we going to do? Is there a theme?

^ Excellent, great idea, and welcome back. I was speculating about what you would choose as your theme and didn't guess this one.

I am ready to begin the next poll, just wondering if I should wait a day, with the folk poll just opening up to votes?

Going to see if we have more votes coming in later today, there was a lot of music to go over, and don't want people to feel stressed about another poll showing up before they've had a chance to listen to the first one.

I would definitely wait a few days before starting the next poll. More generally, I think there should either be more time for each poll, or we should urge people to not post too many songs.

I will vote either later today or tomorrow. I am now listening to the songs in the playlist for the second time. There is so much great stuff that it will be hard for me to choose just three!

Now that some votes are coming in, I am hoping to get my poll in by late tomorrow (Thurs 1 April).
I will open up for voting on Saturday, 10 April, so we
can keep to the proposed schedule. This
can, of course, shift, with everyone’s agreement, if necessary. It gives everyone this weekend for first listen and then, the next weekend before the next scheduled poll, so not too far shy of the two weeks. |

New Poll is up....Sadly it wouldn't let me enter April Fool upside down, but at least I tried....

Due to the late start on the poll and waiting on just a handful:
Still Waiting to Hear From:
JD (same as Scott, [rushfan4] one entry) Icarium Crane (one entry, also) I will open voting in the morning (Sunday), unless I hear from these remaining three sooner. I will enter the two 1-entry folks then, if not heard from them. |
