Paul McCartney announced the break up of The Beatles on April 10, 1970, Let It Be was released on May 8, 1970. So 'technically' they broke up before it's release. But I still don't think it was a bad album by any stretch of the imagination so it wouldn't affect my stance anyway.

I don't think it's a bad album either, and it's not really their last album since Abbey Road was recorded after it. Now that is a the way to go out on a high!

^ I would also include Death, but obviously that was due to Chucks passing. However, it's unclear if we would have ever been seeing another Death album after The Sound of Perseverance since it seems that Chuck was really unhappy with the state of the band as well as death metal as a whole and seemed to really be fully on the Control Denied prog metal train at the time of his death.

Well last one released at least, and it was recorded only a month before Abbey Road but wasn't 'Finished' until later that year. More of a, tie up loose ends, kind of thing.

Depends really, in my opinion Talking Heads peaked with Remain in Light and weren't that great after that imo. Same with The Police, I guess I just prefer the early stuff of both bands.

The Police - even though you could sense the band was coming to its end. Synchronicity is pretty much a Sting album. Don't know about The Clash. The last album, Cut the Crap, was not well received.

In Denmark, Gasolin' pretty much stopped on the top.

Maybe it’s a cop-out, but I barely count that album as a Clash album. If Joe hadn’t fired Mick they could have done amazing things.

We all appreciate the earlier stuff of most bands.......I hesitate mentioning Rush although I think the last 3 albums are pretty solid, as well with Feedback being one of the best cover albums of the past 20yrs.

Synchronicity is a huge album, but a band that only had 5 albums and quitting at the top of the mountain. The Police owned the music world from late 70s to 00s.

I belive both Queen with Innuendo and Bowie with Lzarus while Bowie and Freddy were in mortaly ill managed to deliver a final oumph, Bowie more so, very sad yet dignified end to a very rich and inspiring carear. And while Queen have persued forward Innuende marked a wonderfull final chaper of an era and closure.
