I think the 2022 midterms are going to be a rude awakening for the GOP, they bank on history and gaining seats.. but are likely to get their asses kicked lurching right without Trump on the ticket getting out the vote .. a Congress actually doing something other than gridlock and obstruction....and lose many of the House seats they picked up in 2020 and go deeper in the hole in the Senate.

OK, just wondering, considering latest development: Our US friends here seem to hate just about everyone who isn’t white: Even after Biden was elected: You hate blacks, browns, Arab-borns, Asians (especially Chinese), South Americans, anyone not borne in the US, plus anyone non-white born in the US. Everyone knows I'm not a fan of the US, and that I'd rather live somewhere else, but these generalizations are beyond ridiculous. There's plenty of decent people in the US who don't hate anyone and don't tote guns of any kind. My husband is one of them, as are many of those who post on these forums.

Thank you, Raff...Absolutely true, although surprised at how many bigoted people we DO have here in the US as the last few years have shown us, they are in the minority, they are just loud and obnoxious. Which garners them lots of press and they are a serious terrorism problem....which is easier to contend with, with them being in more in the open than they had been for many years.

Yes, very true Raff. Yet I am a gun-toting white guy who hates racist, fascist, confederate, tinfoil helmet-wearing Trump taint-lickers. But then again, the rifles and shotguns I have were used under state-issued license to slaughter ducks, small mammals and an occasional deer. Which I ate. I do not have the culinary palate for Southern Cracker, however.

. And that's the danger of seeing everything in either black or white. Personally, I've never been interested in guns, nor would I ever hunt animals, but I know many people who do. The former caretaker (concierge) of our condo in Rome, who recently passed away, was a keen hunter and owned shotguns - yet I never felt threatened by him even for a split second, or thought any less of him. In Finland, where I lived for almost six years, gun ownership is probably the highest in Europe. Yet, it's an extremely safe, peaceful country, because the reasons why people own guns are completely different. |

You're taking the position of a few, and applying it across the whole nation. Indeed, and there is also a long tradition of gun ownership and hunting of birds and bunny rabbits in Malta. Gun violence amongst the general population is almost unheard of.
