In my Judgement, Anathema's second album in this poll is their best overall.
![]() I'm not surprised you left the first three Anathema albums out of the poll, as I wasn't even aware they existed.

^My bad! I will not omit any albums in my polls in the future!

I’m not a great fan of the vocals prior to Eternity, but it’s such a great album. I put some thought into it, and my top five Anathema albums are 1. The Optimist 2. Distant Satellites 3. Eternity 4. Weather Systems 5. A Fine Day to Exit So when I look at it that way, Eternity was actually my favourite Anathema album until only relatively recently, as it is only the two most recent albums which are higher in my affections. Not that I particularly agree with leaving any albums out of the poll as options, I can kind of see why the first releases with harsher vocals were omitted, but Eternity has clean vocals only, and was pretty much the beginning of the “new” Anathema. For me this poll should either start at the very beginning, or if albums must be omitted (and I don’t believe they should be), then it should start with Eternity. Funnily enough, my second favourite Anathema album reminds me a lot of Eternity. Distant Satellites is very reminiscent for me of that early Anathema album. |

Eternity and The Silent Enigma are both great.
Even the debut album has some nice ideas here and there but it's marred by the vocals.

The Optimist is my favourite, but I can’t believe Eternity isn’t in the poll. It’s absolutely top five, and possibly even top three, for me.

Honestly, I don’t know. I guess I thought no one would pick their first albums. But can I add options to the post? I can’t seem to figure it out |

Judgement is my favorite
but why does the poll start with their fourth album?

I listened through all of Anathemas albums a few days ago and I find their discography very solid, with some highpoints. For me those highpoints are Weather Systems and Falling Deeper. How about you?
