It's funny that one of the very few British sit coms I have heard of isn't on this list because it's from the sixties and that would be "meet the wife" because it's mentioned in a Beatles song "good morning, good morning"("it's time for tea and meet the wife").

The funny thing is, I've never heard of the British sitcom "Meet the Wife", even though I grew up in Britain during the sixties.

So I guess in the Beatles song you just thought he was going to go home and have some tea with his wife. ![]() I never would have even noticed but I happened to have read about it online.
