Gong released their 'Expresso II' album in '78 but I have always wondered why is it named that way. Where is the preceding album which, as I assume, should be named 'Expresso' or 'Expresso I'?

Please bring some clarity to this, fellow forum users, as I do not know the story of this record's name.

You will find the answer in the review of the album by Mr Sean Trane himself -

Gazeuze's US album cover and title

keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,

The cover looks just as good as the Gazeuse version. Nice!

This was the canadian vinyl version i bought at that time. Still the best of the Pierre Moerlen brand for me, and maybe the best Gong record overall as music matters. Or at least in drums/ mallets percussion department.
45 years of prog listening and still movin'

This LP was the first time I ever heard Holdsworth, and I was like "What the F* is THAT??"

This was a great record!
