Two classic electronic albums. One takes you into the jungle of Malaysia and to the Australian coast, one to a winter landscape. One album sounds very warm, when listening to the other better wrap into a blanket. Take your pick.

On a side note: "Epsilon in Malaysian Pale" was originally released as "Ypsilon in Malaysian Pale" in Germany. "Ypsilon" is the letter "Y" in German, so the title probably referred to the "Y" in "Malaysian". I have no idea what Edgar meant by this though.

Mirage, it's beautiful, eerie and trippy all in one.
It does make me feel like I'm in a wonderland of ice. 
Not that I would ever know what that feels like. I've never even seen or touched snow in my life..

Very difficult choice. Epsilon is an excellent album, arguably Froese's best, but Mirage is a masterpiece...

I have not heard either...I do own Timewind by Schulze.

Mirage is actually my favorite Schulze LP (next to Blackdance) and is arguably the blueprint for Steve Roach's early works.

But Schulze is not the composer Froese was. Nowhere near it. It seems like more people gravitate towards Schulze as the "safe" choice... Lamp

Mirage for sure, though Epsilon in Malaysian Pale is quite excellent.

Option #5: I only know Mirage (since its release) and I like it. This album once was among my top favourites.

Love that Edgar Froese album, so original so stark and so beautiful. I have heard Mirage but just not a Klaus Schulz fan (or fan of very early TD either) so an easy choice for me.

I voted Froese. And not because we got close to 2 feet of snow over Friday and Saturday. Love the mellotron on that Froese album and I found a copy that Edgar didn't re-issue and take out most of that beloved sound.

I love both, and might give it to the Froese for the original version. It's one where re-issues should come with a warning.

Nah, can't vote that way. Really love that Schulze.

By the way, Epsilon in Malaysian Pale was my first progressive electronic (as would have been in PA) love. I mean, I was into Kitaro and Vangelis before that. Kitaro has lots of terrible imo, re-workings (Vangelis too methinks).

I know what is meant in the poll, but I don't want to say that I like them equally as I like them rather differently. Certainly I value both, and there is a kind of equivalence in the level of my appreciation.

Epsilon in Malaysian Pale is one of a kind, stunningly beautiful and meditative album. Mirage, I'd say, is a good album, but generally I have some difficulty to get excited about Schulze's work. Some of it, like Mirage, I can appreciate but it doesn't grab me as much as I'd have hoped, some others I find outright boring.
