Although Houses of the Holy is clearly leading at the moment, how will we know which album's winning after several more rounds of voting, or am I taking this poll way too seriously? Tongue

If I was keeping score for a Top 8, I'd rank them this way, where all of the points divide neatly into 48.

1st album - 24 points
2nd album - 16 points
3rd album - 12 points
4th album - 8 points
5th album - 6 points
6th album - 4 points
7th album - 3 points
8th album - 2 points

3. Physical Graffiti
4. ZOSO (IV)
5. LED Zeppelin I
6. III
7. In Through the Out Door
8. Presence

Physical Graffiti & I - IV are all pretty close for me. They could change order at any given time.

yikes difficult without allowing ties

1- I, II, III, Zoso (60 to 80% good tracks)
5- House (50% good tracks)
6- Graffitti, Presence (only 3 good tracks)
8 - Out Door (better ignored)

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Hi,

1. Led Zeppelin
2. II
3. III
4. Physical Graffiti
5. IV
6. Presence
7. --
8. --

I still think, and the time and place verifies it all, that the first and second albums are the best and most important, and let me tell you ... there were at least 100 bootlegs that had the energy of their shows on them, and it was far out and explosive.

I think that later, things mellowed out a bit too much ... and were not as "forward" and "strong" as the early material when it came out ... there was nothing like it and they just stormed everyone ... compared to their last year doing concerts, they were already not as good ... even though we love a lot of their material.

Greatest opening ever ... "nice to be back ... " ... kaboom kaboom ... non stop for 2 hours plus!
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

I'm not sure if I dare rank my favourite Led Zeppelin albums as I'll only get mocked by Cristi again. Tongue

Only if you put In Through the Out Door as #1 because you think Hot Dog is their best song!

No worries there. In Through the Out Door barely even makes an entry into my Top 8 Led Zeppelin albums. Smile

How am I mocking you? I just disagree with some things you say that's all.

Go ahead, make your list.
Should I be surprised or even be shocked by your ranking, I might disagree, but it does not mean I am mocking. A term like "mocking" has a negative connotation and it's not the case here. Smile

Actually, I'd have a hard time ranking Led Zeppelin's albums in any kind of order as they're all 4-star albums for me, apart from In Through the Out Door, obviously.  Smile
