Hi!

My name is Leo Friberg and I am from Sweden.
I have visited progarchives many times before but it is just recently I registered here. It is a fantastic site!
I am 41 years and I live in a little town called Borås.

I have been listening to progressive rock since I was a teenager. I felt in love with King Crimsons debut album since the first time I heard it. Magical music which still sounds so fresh today. One of the first psych/prog albums I heard was actually Black Widow - Sacrifice. I bought the album because of the cover, I thought it looked interesting. It sort of introduced me to a new kind of music when I was about 16-17 years old...Before that I had listened to my father playing some sort of swedish traditional folk music. He plays violin. And I listened a lot to 60s pop/psych music, like Beach Boys, Beatles and more. Also when I was very young I loved russian classical music.

So what more can I say. I have listened to most of the classic progressive rock albums and by some reason I think that Italian Progressive Rock has most of my favorites: Il balletto di bronzo, Banco, Pfm, Le Orme, Quella Vecchia Locanda and many more. I like very much progressive folk / psychadelic folk / acid folk music like Comus, Incredible String Band, Forest and more. I listen mostly to prog but find it also very interesting to explore ethnic folk music from all over the world. My prefered style is often folk from East Europe. I like also experimental music in general, ambient music, industrial music, powerpop (Jellyfish being a favorite band) and many other genres. I love music in general.

I have some music projects also. I play acoustic guitar, some piano and try to sing. The music I make is sort of Folk/Singer-songwriter/sometimes maybe Acid Folk...I also make sounds and more ambient/experimental music. Enough said about me. Thanks everyone for reading.

Best wishes

/Leo

Welcome. Most members of this forum are "old farts". So glad to see someone about my age.

Great introduction too. Hope you'll enjoy the forum as we do. Thumbs Up

Välkommen! BTW, jag väldigt gillar svensk prog och progg musik. :) The Flower Kings är min favoritmusikgrupp. Jag också strävar att lära mig svenska. ;p

Maybe I need to move to Sweden. I’m 45 and feeling old. Though I seem to have aged more in the last few months than the entire rest of my life. Bloody COVID-19......

What has got me through has definitely been music. The best medicine.

That's like the first flush of youth as far as I'm concerned.
