maybe I should just move back to the Netherlands

is the netherlands a traditional haven for good spare ribs?
well we do kill a lot of cows per capita, and also in Groningen I knew at least three restaurants with 'spareribs' in the name and they were damn tasty every time!

Interesting. I would never have guessed. good ol' the Netherlands.

 How are they traditionally served?

That sounds like a premise for a poll.  What style of ribs is your favorite?

Ohh...it does.

And being my state isn't really known for the BBQ I'm not really sure of the differences. I do know my favorite is baby backs smothered in a tangy sauce.

in a plastic tray? I dunno about traditions, I guess in a proper 'fancy' restaurant you'd get it with fries and a salad... herbs and sauce vary

what's the right word for this, 'seasoning'? I'd normally go for 'barbecue' flavor, I'm guessing that's the stuff they scrape off the grills at the end

and merely christmas btw!

ahh ok. In america, depending on where you come from, you have different opinions how ribs (and bbq in general) should be done, and it isn't meant to be a discussion. Some locales only use dry rubs, some vinegar based sauces, etc etc.

you can never go wrong with any type of thick meaty snacks, iykwim.
