Deep Purple was the first band that really opened my eyes to music, so I just have to vote them, still some of my all time favorite albums. I used to listen to In Rock and Machine Head every single day in high school, still hit just as hard. Fireball is right up there, but Burn will always complete my top 3.
But while I say that, I think all those Sabbath albums are incredible and I hold them in very high esteem as well. If Sabbath Bloody Sabbath was hypothetically in place of Vol 4 is would be a complete coin toss.

possibly because you are a newbie, if I remember right (I could be wrong), you become a groupie at 50 posts and then you can vote and create polls and threads.

I really wanted to vote Sabbath, but had to be honest and choose Purple.
Why? Three flawless albums vs. Sabbath's two flawless and one slightly weaker yet still very good. Vol.4, that is.

I'm very fond of Fireball and Paranoid, and like quite a lot Master of Reality, Vol. 4 and In Rock - and that's just the way it is.

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect. |
