I used to love Winamp for playing my MP3's on my PC, but as I grew older, the tiny interface with tiny fuzzy fonts became too tiresome to read. I tried swapping the skin to Big Bento, enlarging the fonts (only available for playlists), and scaling the window, but nothing really helped. If you have this predicament, I would like to recommend a new skin for Winamp which finally matches the rendering capabilities of modern Windows... Big Bento Modern Windows 10 Edition by Victor Brocaz (https://getwacup.com/community/index.php?topic=327.msg2379). The elements of the player are nicely-sized, and the fonts are clear and readable. Best of all, it's free (although it would be nice to send Victor a few $$ via paypal if you really like it). Here's a screen shot of my configuration... |

Depends what you want. If its just simple playback then winamp is fine. Foobar2000 can be used for file conversions and it supports dsd format. There are loads of plugins too for it and can be used as a dlna server as well. It's just so customisable: https://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php?title=Foobar2000:Components

I use Winamp, foobar2000 and MusicBee. They are all different, but all great.
Winamp is very good at searching through big database. foobar2000 is the best for audio features and customization. MusicBee looks very good.
