Trout Mask Replica will always be the avant champion for me.

QFT

Trout Mask took me a decade to get, I hated it at first but knew there was something there and people I respected liked it. I still have to be in the right mood to play it. It's the ultimate 'the party is over go home people' album.

Trout Mask has the biggest 'reputation' but for pure listening I would choose Lumpy Gravy or Money

same here. Trout is undeniably weirder, but in terms of personal favorites to listen to, I go more for those two Zappa albums.

I guess we all have our favourite weirdos! Igor Wakhevitch anyone??

Haven't voted in the poll yet as there are a couple I haven't listened to. Safe to say I won't be picking Portsmouth Sinfonia, though.

For the record, the weirdest band I’ve ever heard in my life is Caroliner Rainbow (going by several names that are variations of this). They’re not on PA though, nor should they be. But they take the cake. Unbelievably weird.
