Glad this poll came up again, I watched them all again still back my original vote. But I also really enjoyed Tim Alexander, a slower composition but I like how he builds up then pulls back. His cymbal playing is quite good too....
Gavin, Marco, Tim, Danny, Mani in that order for me.

Gotta go with Marco Minnemann on this one, but Mani's is certainly a fun one. |The others are, at best, average solos.

I'd take Palmer / Peart / Bruford solos above all of them.
Thank you for supporting independently produced music

Mani Neumeier drum solo was most entertaining, when he tips out that bag of battery on the floor my jaw dropped ... I think it's a tie between him and Marco Minnemann , but all these drummers are all in a class of their own it's hard to pick one is the best drum solo I loved each one for different reasons, thanks for posting these videos. Clap Tongue BTW Gavin Harrison's drum solo was also amazing but reminded me a little too much of Neil Peart I think because it had music. Most interesting and entertaining poll I've seen in a long time Smile

Mani Neumeier's solo is clearly the most original one, so my vote goes there.

Tough to pick between Marco and Gavin, both are damn masters of the drums but I went with the latter.

Purely based on these five performances, and not on the track records of each of the drummers, I was hesitating between Tim Alexander and Gavin Harrison. Since the latter is cheating (Wink) and the former is still pointless (Ermm), I am giving my vote to Tim Alexander.

Based on track records, I think I prefer Harrison, but of all drummers around I go for Terry Bozzio - that man doesn't even need a band (I saw one of his solo drum concerts which was very very amazing!).

Really enjoy Marco's drumming, saw him once live with SW on GFD Tour....awesome, especially he gave my wife one of his drum sticks.
But.....I think Gavin is an absolutely amazing talented drummer, incredibly musical and is highly respected. Plus he also, along with Neal Peart, performed on the David Letterman Show during "Drum Solo Week"...

Gavin gets my vote.

Drum solos can be boring.....but I'm a fan of Gavin Harrison...love his drumming with PT....and elsewhere.
