While researching the archives for bands named after animals for my themed poll series, there was a number of bands in the Wolf family.  I used a couple on the zoo-themed polls and now I present to you the wolf pack.  All of these songs were created by artists influenced by howling at the moon.  With Halloween approaching at the end of the week, I thought that this might be an appropriate poll.  As always with these polls, you are bound to know a couple of the artists, but hopefully most of them are obscure and new to you, the listener, and you find something new to enjoy, that you might not otherwise have found, and maybe some of you may even find yourselves dancing with wolves.

So many good ones. I'll choose In the Presence of Wolves, followed by Liquid Wolf, then Wolf.

Chose Darrel Ways Wolf...Toy Symphony from Saturation...but Wolf People...'When The Fire '..from Tain is an excellent track and their albums are pretty good.
BTw....Wolf People is another one of those bands that fall into the cracks...could be prog folk...as they have a very strong dose of that Fairport, Steeleye Span, even Tull thing going on...if you have not heard them I recommend The Tain.

I don't know any of these, so I won't vote. My first thought was Wolf City by Amon Duul II, which is not listed.

I was not aware that Ulver was Norwegian for Wolves.

You're sorta right.  I tried listening to Ulver once a long time ago and they weren't for me.  Although, I was in a music store one time when they were playing an album from Ulver which I thought was pretty good, and it surprised me because my previous experience with them had not been good.  If I remember it was clean vocals and it was fairly mellow, which was sort of the opposite of what I remembered of my previous listen to Ulver.

I voted for Etron Fou, who are one of my very favorite bands, but Darryl Way's Wolf should at least have been listed, even though it would not have changed my vote.

It was the first band listed.  Toy Symphony is from Darryl Way's Wolf.

Thanks for at least checking the poll out.  I've found the forums to grow rather boring with the discussions about the same 10 or so bands so I am just trying to liven them up a bit with polls including lesser known bands.  As much as I would like everyone to like the music included in the polls, I know that isn't realistic, but I do hope that by including a variety of types of songs that there might be at least a couple of new discoveries for those that are willing to participate.  That being said other than disappearing to page 50 of the polls section within the next month or so, this poll will still be there, if and when you find the time or desire to check the songs out.  

While I like some of the album comparison threads that have recently been sprouting up, I find those difficult to vote in since I generally haven't heard all of the albums and don't have enough ears to listen to them all.  By doing these playlists I am providing individual songs that can be listened to in a relatively short period of time and at least give a vibe to what a band might sound like, although sometimes I am just including my favorite song from an album even if it isn't representative of the entire album's sound
