This week's field trip takes us to an exotic farm with progressive animals ranging from multiple countries and multiple genres and multiple decades of music.  The goal of these theme polls is to introduce you to what I believe are lesser known bands that get little to no love or recognition here on PA.  I've limited the list to 10 songs in hopes that more people will take the time to participate and check out these songs.  Not all of them will hitch to your tractor, but hopefully there are some cool new discoveries to be found amongst these tunes.

I will start you off with a fairly new song in the Zeuhl style by a band called Laktating Yak.  They didn't have any songs on YouTube, so I will send you to their Bandcamp page to check out Stampede of Yak.  https://laktatingyak.bandcamp.com/track/stampede-of-yak

The remaining nine songs are on YouTube, so I have created a playlist which you can go to to check out these songs.

Galactic Cowboy Orchestra is fierce. Gets my vote.
Big Hogg, great video, my second favorite.
Father Moo, is the whole song an intro?

Good choices.  I think that the Father Moo song might be more of an outro.  It is the 3rd of three songs from their lone album.  The other tracks were 15 and 25 minute songs but I decided to go with the shorter track.  Admittedly, I am not that big a fan of prog electronic.

LOL  Nope.  All bands can be found within the PA database.  Admittedly, I found a few of them in between the couch cushions.

Had not heard any of these, so I listened to all of them.

I chose Hide from the sun by Goat, although Big Hogg and Galactic Cowboy Orchestra were great.

I don’t know all these bands, but of the ones I know, Acid Rooter takes my vote.

What about Camel's Down on the Farm? There's at least a couple of farms with camels here in California (where else?).

And let's not forget Blodwyn Pig ("Prog Related" in the P.A. archives), either.

Camel was included in the first This Place is a Zoo poll, so I figured no reason to included them in the Farm polls.  Although that song would make a nice theme song for this set of theme polls.

No kidding!  The music is pretty good though even if the name imagery does lead one to the Dead conclusion.

This was a nice visit to the farm - many unknown animals. Only a couple of so-so songs, imo: Father Moo, Trojan Horse and Holy Lamb (but the very bad sound quality and the bad singing of the latter don't do them a favour). It was very nice to listen to the rest of the selection and it is difficult to choose one of them. Today I am choosing The Galactic Cowboy Orchestra (I definitely want to hear more from them), but it could have been Laktating Yak - and tomorrow I could Trip Away with Sitting Bull or Focus on Atomic Rooster...

The razamataz is a pain in the bum

I was really impressed by the Galactic Cowboy Orchestra song when I heard it. I have heard a few songs from them.  In regards to Tartar Lamb, that was unfortunately one of the few videos that I could find for them, but agree that the sound quality wasn't very good.  I did like that the singer was wearing a Rush t-shirt though, so that sealed the deal.  LOL
