Fright Pig - Out Of The Barnyard is a great album. Two keyboard players and took a year to bring to fruition. So sad that I'm the first to vote for it.

I listened to all, skipping around during the song. SGP stands above all the others for farm music. Fierce.

I don't understand the charm of AR. Repetative hippie jams that reminds me of Captain Beyond. Tripping tunes?

Not a problem.  I didn't realize how many songs had animal references in the song titles until now.  LOL

Sorry, saw animal tunes as well. In that case Jethro Tull was an agriculturalist connected to the development of the seed drill and horse-drawn hoe. Down on the farm. Tongue

Might I suggest Tull's "One Brown Mouse" (an ode to a Robert Burns poem) or "Heavy Horses". Of course, anything from Floyd's Animals would probably clean up in this category. Throw in Robert Plant's blues ballad for his dog "Bron-yr-Aur Stomp".

Thank you for taking us to the farm!  Yes, ten or so songs is less intimidating than 25, but it always depends on the time available to listen to a list. And thanks for the YT-playlist, very practical.

I only knew Henry Cow and Atomic Rooster before, and I think I heard something from Yak before too, but they're too much neo-cliché to me. You know I'm not much into prog metal and heavy prog, but the Galactic Cowboys and the Sound Goat Project were no unpleasant listens (but I must admit I skipped through Caligula's Horse... and Fright Pig seem to me more heavy than symphonic...).
My top three contenders (or top four with Henry Cow) are the Chickencage Experience, Tartar Lamb and Go Run Donkey Hot!. From these Tartar Lamb sound the most original to me and get my vote.

Yes - it's like "Camel do Caravan" and they do it really well.

That's great!  I loved that song immediately too.  Definitely a good one to be shared.

Camel made their appearance in the first zoo poll...and of course pretty much ran away with it as expected.  Down on the Farm could be the theme song of this series of polls though.

I expected it would be a race between Atomic Rooster and Henry Cow...I'm pleasantly surprised that Caligula's Horse is running a fine race.  If you haven't checked out the Sound Goat Project yet, I recommend giving them a shot.  Theirs is a 2020 debut album so well worth giving a listen for those that participate in the year-end collaborator polls.

Death Walks Behind You is brilliant. But the cover artwork is very creepy. That Blake image is distinctly disturbing.

yeah, I think AR is going to walk this one. The best known song here, me thinks.

Hopefully various people will check out the ones they don't know via the youtube playlist and to refresh memories if needed..  I did, but not only has "Death Walk Behind You" been a long-time favourite of mine, but after checking out the ones I didn't know, it is my favourite of those listed..
