I missed the Neil Peart tribute concert this past weekend. Did anybody watch it? They are offering the chance to watch it on Pay-per-view here. I am thinking I might do this but I am just curious if anyone else had seen it yet and whether it was worth it?

Hey Scott.....Yea I watched it Friday night, not all of it. It was only $12 on LiveXLive and has replay ability till Dec. It is like watching a bunch of YouTube vids because nobody is together. The stuff everyone was saying about the Professor is really cool, most played variations on all of Neal's solo's he did thru out his career. It starts off kinda weird with Narada Michael Walden... I think it is worth it

Very good, although not a fan of the new singer.....That reverb in his voice is too poppy for me.

Wow, is this the first Rush appreciation thread? Dating from January 2020... Because the Flower Kings one that is from 2009 has been fiercely active!

Well, you know, Rush was just an obscure cult band.

No. There was a Rush Fan Central from the beginning of time, but I think that eventually grew moldy and dank and got locked.

I like that Rush cover.
By the way... is there a Genesis appreciation thread?

^ Well, there's' a lot of newer members here, so it's probably better to start from scratch.

well, it's already created. PA forum is the only place you can find same topic repeated endlessly. Any other place will send you to the old original thread and lock the new one up.

Haha. Genesis deserves a new thread. And countless more after that. There are so many aspects to consider and reconsider for ages past.

I vote no new thread for Genesis.............There is history in the older threads that new people should read up on, they will get a flavor of what this place used to be like. The Rush Fan Central was before this Rush thread. The Flower Kings thread is only active because a very few of us will post something there maybe 1-2x a month. Go back in pages and you'll see long breaks.
Should we "lock" old bands out of being added to PA?

I agree with you, but with the Covid lockdown forcing people to stay home, etc. I thought it would be a good idea to start another one and let people enjoy themselves. The admins are hit or miss here so who knows when they will be available to unlock an old one. You dig?

Well with Covid, one can make argument since your home locked up, what better way to spend your time than reading up on old threads that have so much history and flavor from years past.
I started a thread, can't remember where about PA and some old threads, it was really cool to go back and read thru some of that stuff from 10-12yrs ago. For sure the conversations were different but seemed more engaging. Carry on.........
