Will we ever see a new Genesis studio album?

I’ll never get why a select people get so butthurt over post 1980 genesis here, just don’t listen to it. Lol, complaining on the internet and trying to tear it down for fans who understand and have accepted the progression of the band is just cringe worthy. Maybe try to understand the appeal and if it’s not for you move on, those those 9 pre 1980s albums are still there. It’s the equivalent of people who relentlessly bitch about Dennis Deyoung not being in Styx, it’s just such a silly thing only Boomers complain about. If in 40 years you haven’t been able to find anything to fill that empty prog era genesis hole in your heart maybe it isn’t Genesis that’s the issue.

When Gabriel and Collins came out with solo albums it was a blessing to hear more music from two great artists that helped build Genesis.

Like I said on the Yes thread, I'd probably buy it if it happened. They might still have a couple gems left in their old brains.

That's an interesting suggestion! Both Steve Hackett and Ant Phillips have been doing guest appearances on other people's albums so why not on an album by their old band. That either of them would re-join the band full-time is not something I think is realistic, however. Well if you substitute “not something I think is realistic”  for “it is utterly impossible“, you would be nearer the truth. It will never happen, and neither should it.

If you like thier sickly pop music then please stop being an apologist for them and get on with your pop music post, as I get quite tired of that.
