Before I went to bed last night it was 5-5 and then when I see it today Anglagard had quite the lead. DT might have caught up a little bit but still a bit behind. Interesting.
If anyone hasn't heard either album please mention that here since I didn't put an option for that on there.

Neither.
Especially not DT. They are the most sterile, safe sounding progressive metal band of all time. What a let down in every sense of the word (and images) lol.

Even though Dream Theater are one of my favourite 5 artists, it's got to be Hybris on this one. That album is just outstanding.

I'm British therefore spell 'Theatre' that way.. Yes, if i had an interest in the band i might have bothered to spell it the American way... And while we're being pedants its 'you also can't spell' not you can't also spell'

^Typically you spell the name of a band the way they spell it(whether you like the band or not). I wouldn't say Yos or Genesas just because I didn't like them.

Its got nothing to do with whether i like them or not so that's nonsense; The word Theatre is spelled Theatre in the ENGLISH language in Britain where i am from. I appreciate its spelled differently in the USA but as far as im aware Genesis and Yes are words that are spelled the same in any part of the English speaking world so if you spelled them the way you did i would assume you are either dyslectic, dont have as agile fingers on the keyboard as you used to (this happens to me a lot) or don't have English as a first language. And i wouldnt take the Piss out of you. Edited by Cosmiclawnmower - August 30 2020 at 12:32 |

I'm just saying you should respect the way the band spells it. There are american ways of spelling things and english ways of spelling things. Dream Theater are a US band not an english one. As far as it not having anything to do with whether you like them or not you said(and I quote)"if i had an interest in the band i might have bothered to spell it the American way." To me having interest is more or less the same as liking a band. Let's not split hairs here. So much for my statement being "nonsense." It was your idea in the first place not mine.

DT over Änglagård here, though I usually have more affinity with SP than with PM.

I have every right not to like their music! i'm sure they are lovely chaps and excellent musicians but i just do not like their music. Its got nothing to do with the fact that i used the correct UK spelling of Theatre rather than the US spelling Theater.. if you see that as a 'dis' on the band thats your right but i can assure it wasnt. You'll come back with a smart reply no doubt so I'm out of this.

A band name can be spelt any way the band likes , it doesn't have to be correct grammatically but from a US point of view it does happen to be correct.

Unless the way the band spells it has diacritics? ![]() |

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

My vote goes to Änglagård - Hybris. That is a masterpiece of an album, although I do prefer Viljans Öga. By contrast, Dream Theater - Images and Words hasn't resonated with me like two other Dream Theater albums I have.

^ The order in which I got the albums could be significant. Images and Words was my third album and perhaps I had grown a little tired of the Dream Theater sound. If I got Images and Words first, perhaps I might have enjoyed it more.
