And now you find yourself in 92. Both albums were important in getting people excited about prog rock again. Which one do you prefer?

I thought since there's a 90's poll series going on why not these two important albums from 1992.

Also, please don't give me a hard time about the lack of umlauts in Anglagard. I just didn't feel like looking it up. Call me lazy. I don't care. Wink

Never fallen for Dream Theater, I do own a couple of their albums but they don’t blow me away (and I love my Metal) but Anglagard are superb.

Anglagard, no question.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Back in 92, I did not know about these two abums. I listened to I&W in its entirety in 1994, although I knew Pull Me Under before that. I listened to Hybris because of PA, obviously.

Voted for DT, an important album for me, more than the otherwise excellent Hybris, if that makes sense.

That makes no sense whatsoever
Back in the 90’s I had a friend who was a DT nutbag !! I grew tired of DT pretty fast, though I have Metropolis Pt 2 wnd Octavarium on LP but rarely spin them.

I'm sure I don't wanna know what a DT mutbag is. LOL

There are quite a few DT albums I'd rather listen before Metropolis 2. The Moore albums are my favorites.
Also Metropolis 2 was a chore to listen to, its length has always bothered me, I've rarely listened to it in its entirety. Usually 2 listens/sittings - part one up to the song Home, part 2 Home-to the end. Big smileLOL

Mutbag lol. Yep ! That’s how I listen - record 1 one day, then record 2. And I hate the intro piece with that close your eyes b/s. Already off to a bad start. It does get better I guess. To say my buddy was obsessed with DT is an understatement.

It seems I'm the only person around here that hasn't heard Anglagard (don't care about the umlauts; people rarely write my name correctly, so why should I care ).

In my corner of the planet it's not so easy to get hold of anything that isn't a very big name. Maybe only through piracy (which I wouldn't have the heart to do, especially for smaller bands) or online shopping, which gets pretty expensive overseas.

Definitely Images and Words.  Hybris is a great album, but Images and Words was my gateway album into modern prog.
