For my second choice, sticking with the Prog Related sub-genre, I choose an album that was actually quite popular in Australia when it was released. The whole album is great, and choosing a track from it was difficult. But I decided to go with the following:
 
 
801 - Sombre Reptiles (from 801 Live)
 

 
 
No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

Final thoughts on the latecomers and one more from I prophesy disaster:

I prophesy disaster:  801 “Sombre Reptiles” Hadn’t heard this, obviously quality experimental music.  Immediate hook into the sound of it.  

Hrychu:  Erich WK, Snappleman, Maiko “Earthbound - Smiles & Tears”  Not sure which is the title for this one.  But made for a good waking up piece of music.  Pretty melody with some unexpected changeups and choral voices.  Nice electric guitar work from about middle to end. 

Samuel:  Them Crooked Vultures “Elephants”  This one is straight-ahead, but very well done hard-edged rock.  Sort of Jack Bruce-like vocals, to my ear.  This is my favourite of your 3 this time.  Kasabian “I.D” Electronic repeating phrases with some vocals way back.  Would work for me for background, but not a big fan of electronic music typically, this one just didn’t speak to me.  Ash “Twilight of the Innocents” Nice, alt rock sort of sound to this, with a bit of a rough edge to it. 

The Anders:  Kogekunst “Kan ikke vente til I morgen”  Kind of a whimsical sound (esp with the video) to this.  A little bit poppy but also kind of twisted.  Love the video, reminds me of “Prometheus and Bob,” the old Cartoon Network film short(s).

Selection to nominate for me this time will be the Hank Dogs, "18 Dogs."  Going to the dogs, I am.  Thank you for your thoughts, everyone, it made it hard for me to choose!  One thing these all have in common, to me, is how much they only sound like them, something I strive to find in music, that can be very elusive for artists to achieve.

Now to figure out what makes the next cut and then the final three of everyone's fine choices for this poll.  It doesn't seem to get any easier!Clap

@ I prophesy disaster: I like Sombre Reptiles a lot - I have that album for a very long time but haven't listened to it for ages, thanks for reminding me of it. BÖC - not so much.

When is the nomination deadline? Thanks for positive feedback on my posted tracks. Nils Frahm and Anne Müller seem to be just about in the lead, but it's a tight affair and a single additional voice for one of the others may still change my decision.

For my third choice, again sticking with the Prog Related sub-genre, I choose my favourite group before discovering VdGG. There are many classic tracks to choose from, but I decided to go with one that I recently rediscovered, a track that justifies this group being on this site:

hmmmm as I thought it might be.. a hard choice for my poll selection... and you alls comments didn't make it any easier hahah.

I do love me some Stephen Stills.. one of the few musicians I have truly worshipped... but Nickies earlier comment tips this one to Hersh.  So it is Your Ghost for me.  What an album that was.  I was a big fan of hers back in the day... going back to the first time I saw Throwing Muses live..  wow man.. was blown away.

Probably last note on new entry, I prophesy disaster's entry of Black Sabbath's "Air Dance."  I am going to post another video of it, as that one didn't work for my country.  Here is my take on the tune. Black Sabbath “Air Dance”  The band really wanted to stretch out, even with things behind the scenes being so difficult.  You get an idea of how they might have evolved further, had they not been kept forced into their tighter niche.  Bill said they always would start rehearsals with a jazz jam, this echoes those jams.
