Neubauten also have Fiat Lux, and the Lament album can be considered as a single epic despite it being officially divided into shorter tracks. I have lots of experimental music (i.e., too progressive to be considered prog ![]() For example these: |

10cc did a couple of epic 10 minute plus songs. Une Nuit a Paris has already been mentioned but this is my favourite, ending with a suitably heroic guitar solo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HcxhcSlTc4

Then there's the White Trash version...a 17 minute long epic with one of the great vocals of all time from Edgar Winter. What a set of lungs, and one helluva of horn section: Edited by The Dark Elf - July 01 2020 at 21:18 |

Ha, ha. I think you're right. Someone thought it was a good idea to get the piano out and used the excuse of the guitar riffs and vocals to do it.

21 minutes long, divided up into multiple sections and quite daring for its time, but it certainly can't be called "progressive rock" by any stretch of the term

Don't know if it's been mentioned yet - Telegraph Road is quite a progressive song, at about 14 minutes. Correct me if it's been mentioned already.
Tunnel of Love is quite progressive too.

An interesting 'pop/rock' band who manged to transcend musical genres. Prog or not..? Did they influence Queen with that one...? ;) Edited by dr wu23 - July 01 2020 at 10:15 |
