Thanks! As I said in the OP, Genesis (especially early 80s Genesis) have made a surprising number of extended pieces that they just broke up for the album. I believe, sadly, that only the Duke and Lamb suites were ever performed live. I'd have loved to have seen the SEBTP Suite I posted live. You will notice that these mysterious unofficial "hidden" suites occur mainly in early 70s and early 80s Genesis (conveniently my two favourite periods). This I think is because in the early 80s, Genesis began to try group improvisation, and they simply were good at making up long songs as they went along, and in the early 70s, in the words of Phil Collins, they "found it hard to make short songs" (think that came from a Nursery Cryme interview) and the extended pieces just came flowing, but I'm not sure, to be honest. Perhaps they were just very productive periods for the band, I don't know.

Ok then.
EDIT: In fact, actually, I disagree. I'll make one anyway, it would very interesting to see which would win. I'll make it tomorrow, I have to leave now. You are right that there are too many Genesis polls about though. But there's a reason for that. Edited by FatherChristmas - August 15 2020 at 09:06 |

Make the poll if you want, but the Selling England Suite will win. There is no doubt.

It might work also with Unquiet Slumbers for the People / on That Quiet Earth / Afterglow. There's even a poll with that one posted recently.

I haven't heard of that, do you mean one of the live medleys of old Genesis songs they performed on the 2007 Turn it on Again Tour?
