Despite being known only for one magnum opus (completely unlike Yes), the legendary Supper's Ready, Genesis often has produced songs on their albums that seem to flow into each other alarmingly easily. These are usually part of one of Genesis's Hidden Suites, extended pieces that were broken up on the albums to "avoid comparisons" to Supper's Ready. The most famous of these was the equally legendary (well, according to me) Duke Suite, but as it happens, there were others. I'll be posting the videos here soon.

The Selling England by the Pound Suite!
I couldn't find a full version of it on youtube so I had to use a blended version of DWTMK and the Cinema Show, sorry. EDIT: when I tried to put it in video format it didn't work. Sorry again!

If you take the beginning of dancing with the moonlit knight and then cinema show and then aisle of plenty I think that could qualify as a suite. You mentioned something like that but not sure that's what you meant.
You could also maybe do dance on a volcano and los endos as a suite and maybe throw squonk in there too since it's featured in los endos. Speaking of los endos there's also this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-iJ5i5iVPw

Dancing with the Moonlit Knight/The Cinema Show/Aisle of Plenty was originally intended as a single piece of music, but was discarded to avoid comparisons to Supper's Ready, as is the case with the other suites on here.

I actually usually play Dance on a Volcano, Squonk and Los Endos together, but it was never initially intended as a suite. |

True but I think the only one that was was the Duke suite. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

^Look under the DWTMK part, it explains the SEBTP suite. As for the first three tracks of TLLDOB, I believe a friend of mine told me as I've thought it was a "hidden" suite for a long time, and since the tracks connect to each other on the album I've seen no reason to doubt it. I could be wrong...

Maybe Genesis just won't admit that some were intended as suites just like Pink Floyd won't admit they recorded dark side of the moon as an alternate wizard of oz soundtrack. ;)

What doesn't work at all is that awful Turn it Off Again right in the middle, which sticks out luike a sore thumb in this suite (you sure you got it right?) it (Off) ruins the cohesiveness of the rest

I think Submarine was meant to be a followup to Dodo / Lurker.

I’m sure that Kajagoogoo could put together an anonymous suite of sorts.
And i like Kajagoogoo. The 80’s were a different ballgame musically speaking. Our beloved Progressive g bands adapted, compromised and we get what we got. Edited by Tom Ozric - August 15 2020 at 03:01 |

Turn It On Again has a couple shared motifs with the Behind the Lines intro/Duke's End.

Turn it on Again was originally a short instrumental section in the suite, but Mike, Tony and Phil liked it so much they doubled the length and wrote lyrics for it.
