This year is really shaping up to be the worst ever... While I could not call myself a fan, I was slowly getting into the band's output. Additionally, I am a huge fan of all the band's offshoots, such as North Sea Radio Orchestra. Sad day today. RIP Tim, a very gifted and very unlucky man.

This is truly heartbreaking. From time to time there were progress messages regarding his health, only to be followed by less optimistic ones. I was hoping he'd recover at some point - not 100% but well enough to do some music and have some more good life. The Cardiacs website today: |

Can't say i am a cardiacs fan, but this is still sad news to read. I don't mean this is a negative way, but he seemed like a very interesting guy.
RIP

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect. |

I have just heard the news about Tim Smith today. Very sad.
I have been getting into Cardiacs recently and discovering their unique and creative music. Tim Smith was a great talent and his untimely loss is such a terrible shame There was talk of him maybe recovering, even of him maybe being able to do some work in the studio, but it wasn't to be. His musical legacy will certainly live on |

I couldn't believe it when I heard about his death
As a huge Cardiacs fan, this was such a punch to the gut for me, not that I knew him, but I respected him so much for his incredible contributions to the kind of music I love so much.
