Just been listening to 'North Circular' by The Bevis Frond - triple LP from 1997.  It was my intro to Nick Saloman when it came out, and I've always thought it boasted a daunting number of superb songs. It's never had much recognition even with BF fans, and I've never understood why.

I just listened to 'The Strangers Mirror', and the guitar solo at the end just destroyed me.  The whole song is great, but plug in at about 8:15 for that solo.

North Circular is my one and only The Bevis Frond album. I was introduced to the album by "The All Music Guide To Rock" book which I got during the mid-to-late 90s (this book also introduced me to Gentle Giant).

I’m a huge fan of the Bevis Frond - though North Circular is one of the few albums I haven’t acquired yet. Working on it though!

I think my favorite album is Hit Squad. That sucker rips!

I just listened to that, excellent!  Yes, that guitar solo was inspired!  I knew of the band's name, as I knew that Nick Saloman was a Tom Rapp/Pearls Before Swine fan. In an interview with Tom Rapp, he'd mentioned having played at Terrastock 2, back in the late 90's. Just never had the opportunity to give them a listen.  Am going to listen to more, now.  Thank you for bringing it to my attention.Smile

Here’s a favorite, from White Numbers (2014, I think).
