"in der Nacht sind alle Katzen grau" ("by night all cats are gray"). this German proverb is descriptive of the fact that differences in appearance are difficult to recognize when it is dark. example: "my new girlfriend is definitely no supermodel, but who cares? by night all cats are gray"

Wow, really surprised that someone else knows Dark Oracle here; considering its popularity(!) on IMDB.

So it appears I'm not the only person in the whole world who remembers that show! It was aired in Poland with a horrible dub but I used to watch it anyway. The wole mystery of the "ankh" thing was pretty cool.
As for my favorite quote and stuff it would be: "Out of chaos comes music" - Roine Stolt. Edited by Hrychu - July 04 2020 at 19:29 |

![]() I saw (heard, of course) this quote in a Canadian series entitled Dark Oracle, supposedly aimed at teens and young adults. (I loved it, anyway.) I made this image myself, for my Facebook cover, years ago. Simple but effective "words of wisdom", methinks. Edited by Shadowyzard - July 04 2020 at 19:42 |

Instead of something clever and learned I thought id record a couple of my late mothers sayings.. I don't think they were original but they made their point.. ''The things you see when you haven't got your gun'' ''You make a great door but a rubbish window'' (when standing in the way of the tv etc) ''if it was a bear it would have bitten you'' (when looking for something obvious) Ahh.. the wisdom of old dears ;)

The story of Haquin...................
When the child was born, the parents brought it to the Hakuin, who now was viewed as a pariah by the whole village. They demanded that he take care of the child since it was his responsibility. "Is that so?" Hakuin said calmly as he accepted the child. For many months he took very good care of the child until the daughter could no longer withstand the lie she had told. She confessed that the real father was a young man in the village whom she had tried to protect. The parents immediately went to Hakuin to see if he would return the baby. With profuse apologies they explained what had happened. "Is that so?" Hakuin said as he handed them the child. |
