Floating Points - Mojave Desert

   This is a 25 minute EP as well as a film document of the very same. Floating Points is really just one guy that normally frolicks around in contemporary electronic music..yet this sees him with a touring band out in the desert transfixed by the natural reverberations and echo-like effects the landscape had to offer...and well decided to jam it out..alone with but a film and sound crew and a few lizards here and there.
What this amounts to is effectively something that veers in very close proximity of the Floyd’s Pompeii gig..yet sounding completely original. It’s more in the slowly building almost ambient take on psychedelic rock - metamorphosing along the way. I’ve heard some post-rock that reminds me slightly of this...but not as good or ‘together’ if that makes sense.
This is freeform psych music inspired by the scenery and moment and I thought I’d share it with you guys. I figure at least some of you will dig this big time.
