Who knows? Frank Zappa has dabbled in so many different genres of music - including Rock, Blues, Experimental, Jazz, Classical, Pop, Avante-garde, & Doo-Wop - that he might be a secret Neo-Prog artist too.

Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

You really should have Edison's Children over Transatlantic. Edison's Children is far more Neo-Prog than TA and in my opinion ... with 4 albums out (3 of which are stunning and have gotten great overall reviews on this site) always forgotten and that is a real shame. Nothing wrong with Transatlantic but if you're going to put another Pete band in here for Neo-Prog start giving some credit to EC and save Transatlantic for something somewhat "Proggier"

Let's make Prog a family again. Tired of Snobbery and trolling. We all have a right to love what and who we love so lets respect and appreciate all who care about the finest music in the world... prog

Sorry, but I've never heard of Edison's Children before, although it's not too late for me to include them in the poll.

I've revived this old Neo-Prog poll for Cristi, mainly because it features Marillion, who are currently leading the poll.

Can you change the thread title to something else, there are only 10 neo-prog bands in the poll, if you claim to be nice and do things for me...

It's a bit late to change the poll title now when it's a year old, and besides, we already had the "discussion" about what is and isn't Neo-Prog, and we agreed to disagree,

"let's agree to disagree" is just an excuse to avoid discussion.
You have revived the worst poll you ever made. Congratulations!
And yes, you can change the thread title, if you want to that is...

My favorite out of all these is Porcupine Tree. I wouldn't classify them as neo-prog though.

Porcupine Tree are just too good to leave out of the poll, even if they're more Heavy Prog than Neo-Prog. I wanted to include Mostly Autumn in the poll too, but that may have been stretching the definition of Neo-Prog a little too far.

labels are subjective? No they're not, our taste, preferences, that's subjective.
