Even if Chapman can sound billy goat gruff, just imagine it's Peter Gabriel in a goat costume, rather than dressed as a fox.

I think Music in a Doll's House is a really cool and interesting album from 1968, whether you will, I don't know. The vocals are rather divisive and might take some getting used to (not so much on some songs as others). I'd say that 1969's Family Entertainment, the follow-up, is rather easier listening. I think you'd like it, but who knows. Go where your ears take you, and your heart guides you.

It's one of those bands that i expect you'd get around sooner or later if you decide to really explore that early progressive rock scene. I'm not of the pushing through complete discographies mindset, except with a few or ones with limited releases, and have wanted to know lots and lots of different ones, and explore new musical avenues. Most of my music knowledge is more general than specialised.

Most of my music knowledge is more general than specialised. Ok, you seem to know an awful lot of music artists but yeah if you're not listening to all their albums then that makes more sense. I just got in a groove there with the Moodies and didn't want to stop lol. Ok then, this singer sounds horrible, but I'll try to pretend it's PG just haven't an especially bad outing lol. We'll see how it goes.

I have thousands of albums in my collection, and I have complete discographies of quite a few actually (which have more than, say, three albums), but I also have a lot that only put out one or two albums or that's all I got around to. Of any band in PA, I have the most by Magma, not just for the studio albums, but lives, followed by Art Zoyd, Robert Wyatt and some others. I haven't been discovering a lot of new music for some years, so it's insane how much I got to know over eight or so years. I still discover new-to-me music, but at a snail pace comparatively. I don't listen to my CDs or records much, or my iPod which has a huge number of albums on it, but I still stream new-to-me music. When I really like an album, I'm the kind who likes to play it again and again and again. In one week, I might only listen to one album multiple times. I'm getting back into more variety in my diet (for a while I stopped listening to music and just listened to podcasts). I still discover new-to-me stuff on youtube regularly (mostly psych, folk and electronic).

I only have Family's first two albums in my collection.

Fearless and Bandstand are my Family faves.

The only Moodies album m I’ve never heard (from Days-Keys to the Kingdom. Am I missing something ??

No, surprisingly The Other Side Of Life, although I know Your Wldest Dreams of course. I never found the Moraz years that exciting.

I never found the Moraz years that exciting. I think he added something with his synth playing that wasn't there before and added some new excitement to the band. However, at some point they just went too far in a poppy direction. I can handle poppy to an extent but I still typically prefer to have some kind of rock element.  Anyway, if you haven't heard TOSOL I would say listen to it or get it only if you enjoy the other albums with Patrick Moraz. It sounds to me that you don't though so I would say probably skip it.

That was very good. A CD I'm going to have to get into my collection. That last long deal 'In Held' had too much talking, and was kind of strange but certainly interesting.. obviously I understand though it's importance as far the early development of prog. And the tracks before that one were just great, I enjoyed them immensely.
