But how do you hoard guns? You can't just go out and buy them all as I think some states restrict to one gun a month, gun buying laws are state by state I believe.

Thinking ahead about a vaccine approval.......I can only imagine how slammed all the local family dr offices will get, the lines will be endless.

Americans have been hoarding guns for years now. I guarantee you I have dozens of neighbors who have been in the gun of the month club since the Clinton years because "them dimmycratz is comin' fer muh gunz!". It doesn't take long for a 2 person household to accumulate more guns than you can move in one vehicle. Take a little drive out to rural Snohomish or Pierce county on a clear day and you will hear the arsenals roaring.

What I can tell you is currently happening, having just visited a local armory, is there is definitely a run on ammunition.

Has anyone considered what might happen in a few months time when, with about 60% to 70% of humanity out of action, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and wildfires are due to start again globally?

I can't imagine anyone preparing for this.

Pop quiz: what do you do if you fall and plunge your hand in a warm turd lying on the road?
I hope you don’t just wipe it with some white paper and be on your merry way. Nah you wash it. Similar thing on the toilet; what we effectively are doing is basically just smearing poop round our collective starfishes
A bidet is really the civilised thing here folks...says the man who has used one maybe twice in his lifetime

I follow up my sshhmearing with a flushable wipe....squeaky clean!

Regarding the bidet, who actually uses one on a daily basis?? I have tried them while in other countries but clearly was not using it right Dead.

You seem like you have full control of the situation there my man. (Makes mental note)

What I want to know is where did Jose get those flushable wipes. Some shady dealer in a back alley?

Good to hear Steve

Btw, and completely unrelated, do you know Perfect Beings? Earlier on I recommended their album Vier in another thread for someone looking for uplifting music. Tbh any of their albums puts a smile on my face. Sorta like Yes meets XTC if you can dig such a combination

Gotta be honest, I have never heard any of Perfect Beings, but sounds like something that I should be putting on tomorrow’s work from home shiftClap

No?
That actually gets me a little excited on your part Steve. Knowing your tastes I think you’ll love them
It took me a little while plus the help of a friend who kept playing tracks off of various albums of theirs, and then they clicked with me.

Boris Johnson has just stated that the UK can turn the Coronavirus around in 12 weeks without intending to shut down public transport.

This man is my hero.

Being a gun owner since the age of 11, I find at absolutely laughable. Never once thought any government entity was coming after my guns. It's a pretty snowflakey concept, as that particular faction loves to accuse their nemeses of.

They're also doing this in my neck of the woods in Pennsylvania. First hour goes to senior citizens, then the rest of us. Some sections of the supermarket are empty or mostly empty. They ran out of eggs yesterday, but new shipments came in today. Haven't seen toilet paper on the shelves since the end of last week. Fortunately my wife ordered an 18-roll pack from Target the week before this all started, so good for awhile (hopefully).

No infections in my neck of the woods yet, but it's certainly knocking on our door. We've been treating this as if it's spreading (which it probably is from asymptomatic individuals). I hate going to the stores right now because there are a lot of people not getting the message of social distancing.

Scary news of the day: CDC reported that of the 508 hospitalized in the U.S., 38% were in the age range of 20-54.

Good news of the day: China had no new infections in the last 24 hours.

I hear ya but person who posted that made it sound like all of a sudden all the guns were being bought up in the last month. I don't own any guns, my daughter, couple sons and son in law do own guns....I have zero issue with it.
I live in Pierce and don't hear any arsenal going off regularly, I am sure in rural parts its different say south Pierce as you get into and past Eatonville.
I know many Pierce police and they tell me its been quiet the past month with many staying home now.

I've owned the same Browning Citori 12 gauge since the 80s. Democrats go hunting, we just don't need an AR-15 with a bump stock to shoot up whole flocks of ducks and geese.

I'm starting to wonder if the virus is nature's reaction to Trump, like in War of the Worlds.

It seems like owning a bidet is as strange to an American as a civilian owning a gun to a European.

Here in the UK we don't understand either of these things. Then again, based on our recent political history, we don't understand anything much.

And, the only thing having more guns than you can carry does is attract thieves.

If my math is correct, and the Chinese government is telling the truth about their lockdown timing, sounds like we are about 3 weeks from turning the trend around.

The UK is asking thousands of retired doctors and nurses to return to help tackle the emergency.
Seeing that the virus is especially dangerous to the elderly, this seems a bit ... irresponsible?
But then again I'm sure that especially nurses get enough money stuffed up the wazoo to happily get ill and die in service to the community.
