I'd drifted away from prog in the last 10 years, but I remember well how excited I was for this one -



Actually I (re)listened to the whole of it just few months ago and enjoyed it immensely!

Actually it is.  Look closer at the 2nd choice....

That is the weakest track on the CD....still brilliant tho...Tillison is preaching to his contemporaries, he would deffo been my best mate if we were school mates....his cover notes always strike a chord with my formative years....

Really great to hear you liked it too!! Risto was really interesting band before this their fourth album, but this album really hit me when it came! And it still sounds just great! All the tracks are really good, but you picked really great two (I will add this with it´s very interesting video):

I remember this album generating quite a lot of buzz when it came out, but for whatever reason I didn't get around to checking it out.

Listening now. There's an impressive density to what's going on here, with a rapid turnover of ideas. Also lots and lots of words! The first track comes in at just under 13 minutes and feels a bit like a whole album's worth of material compacted into one song.

I think I'm going to dig this, but it's going to take a little time to absorb...

ÄNGLAGÅRD Viljans Öga, 2012 I believe. I actually prefer this to their two previous albums...this album is heavy and spooky!!! (and a wonderful recording, very organic!)

An exceptionally strong album for sure, and one that still gets plays at my house. Epilog remains my favourite Anglagard album though; high in the all-time pantheon of mainstream prog albums for me.

Takes several listens to reap the rewards. Don't give up. No other band like them. Band mates have day jobs, playing music is a hobby for them.
