Thanks for posting those Barbara Dennerlein clips, Jean & Friede. I watched  them all last night. She sounds like Germany's answer to Brian Auger. Smile

she has the best footwork of all. even Rhoda Scott, who also plays Hammond and uses the foot pedals and has often played together with Barbara, says so. this can best be seen when she plays pipe organ instead of Hammond B3

I didn't even notice Barbara Dennerlein's feet moving. I was too busy watching her fingers flashing like lightning across the keyboard. Smile

^^ I noticed Barbara's fingers are very long and slender - ideal for a keyboard player - unlike Elton John's fat and stubby fingers. Smile

I am a keyboard player myself, and I have huge hands; it certainly is useful. I have huge feet too, but unfortunately I can't play with them. I only have a problem finding fitting shoes for them. when you need size 14 shoes (US size) as a woman you need your shoes to be custom-made

I play keyboards too, although I'm not a musician by any stretch of the imagination. I can't even read music - not without my own Easy=Play guide anyway. Smile

How could you not go directly to Herbie Hancock's Headhunter. It doesn't get any better or any more famous. Beyond that i love both Parliament and Funkadelic, Prince, Sly & the Family Stone, Demon Fuzz, some Miles Davis, Cortex, select Sun Ra and so many many more

It's funny you should mention Demon Fuzz. I reviewed their "Afreaka!" album today and posted the full YouTube album on my Prog Britannia blog. Smile

I may have posted a Funkadelic concert on my Psychedelic Soul Kitchen thread. Wink

Thanks! That was the first time I'd ever heard the Demon Fuzz "Afreaka!" album yesterday. It's another album to add to my long, ever-growing list of albums to go out and buy.  Smile

It's probably a good thing that most of the classic prog albums I've reviewed so far are hard to get hold of, otherwise I would have gone out and bought them all at great expense. Smile

^ in the last year i've come to realize i need to stop buying so much and simply check things out on YouTube and other internet sources. My collection of over 10K album, CDs etc has me overwhelmed!

10,000+ albums is a very impressive collection! I've only bought eleven prog albums since I joined PA last September:- Four albums by Steve Hillage; three albums by Budgie; two albums by Van der Graaf Generator; and one album each by Peter Bardens and Genesis. I would have bought a lot more though if they'd been available in my local record stores. Smile

Sorry, I could not find a video with the full album so here's a list of videos for separate tracks. Smile
