for sure the greatest guitar-solos ever are made by one man
DAVID GILMOUR
the greatest ever out of those is the intensely-played COMFORTABLY NUMB in the live album PULSE in 1995 .

" Kurt Cobain- Endless, Nameless "
That ... is beyond true. I didn't know people knew that song.
Sad thing is I discovered it reading a book on who killed Kurt.

Doesn't Eric Clapton play that?

Edit: I know it's a Beatles song, just talking about the solo.

Well no it's a Beatles song, but I'm pretty sure Clapton played the solo on that track. Great song anyway.

Oh, BTW, NIrvana is the first good band I ever listened to. Still got all their albums and singles and I still loove them, Echoes! But I'm not talking about the crappy version of Endless, Nameless, the hidden track on their landmark Nevermind, I'm talking about the longer, rawer, badder vesion recorded withJohn Peel for the BBC.

BTW, R.I.P JOHN PEEL, we'll miss you!

John Petrucci - Trial Of Tears, Beyond This Life (the version on the recent
Budokan set is sensational)

Steve Rothery - almost everything, but especially This Strange Engine and
Neverland.

Some Keyboard moments

Keith Emerson Stones of Years and anything on Piano

I've always loved Steve Hackett's "Horizons". Keith Emerson's piano solo on "Take A Pebble" is fantastic! Actually, whenever any member of ELP solos it's usually REALLY good. Here we go though people, in my opinion, the greatest hard rock solo out there: Mick Box's guitar solo (you could say duel, with Lee Kerslake on drums) on "The Magician's Birthday". I LOVE IT!!
And Jesus said unto John, "come forth and receive eternal life..."
Unfortunately, John came fifth and was stuck with a toaster.
