I think it's pretty good....hope they do a season 2 and even 3 because the 3 books end up going into our earth and other realms.

Weirdly I didn't even though I love Ruth Wilson and James McAvoy , both very fine actors . Recently I've got bored with a lot of BBC adaptions so I just didn't bother with it and the talking Polar Bear just always felt too gimmicky somehow.

Watching The Witcher on Netflix now. Not bad but it's a little hard to follow, Kind of all over the place.

^ The video games are a little hard to follow and they're much more slow paced.

I just watched that over the past week. Having the three lead characters on different timelines to start was hard to follow. And the nonhumans don't age. The first season was a long build up and introduction. Second season should be interesting. Really good fight scenes.

I thought the same, but stick with it as all becomes clear. My wife and I really enjoyed it, and I can't wait for a second season. I wasn't sure about Henry Cavill at first but I think he nailed it. In fact all the actors were pretty good. The only downside for me was the environment didn't have the scale of, say, GoT.

Enjoyed the final season of The Man in the High Castle, despite it being a bit rushed in order to complete the storyline when another season was ruled out. Rufus Sewell was great. In contrast, gave up on Mr Robot ages ago, but skipped to the end to see what it was all about (hmmmm ... 🤔) That’s a lot of time not listening to music that I’ll never get back! 🤣

Well..it's a fantasy and in that alternate earth animals can talk and they also have daemons outside their bodies...that are their 'souls'. But the talking animals are done well, and they seem normal somehow.
The books were very good.

I watched all that. I found it okay but would have liked more 'substance'. Maybe a second season on the way?

I'm a little bit on the fence about how Man In The High Castle ended . Won't spoil it for anyone that is still watching but Rufus Sewell's character just seemed to do to much of a 360 turn at the end. I wanted it to have more emotional impact.

Also similarly for Mr Robot . It just seemed to meander to a halt. Another case of 'notknowinghottoendashowsoitcarriesontoolongitus' Smile

People who care about Westworld probably already know, some here depending on the time zone might have seen the first episode already, but the third season of this HBO series starts tonight.

I watched again through most of the first two seasons. Some didn't like the second season, and found it too confusing, but I enjoyed it and appreciated it even more this time around.

I'm a big fan of Westworld, so this is exciting for me.

And the Korean historical zombie series, Kingdom, just dropped recently. I loved the first season, beautiful cinematography, but still haven't started on the second (I heard it was better because it is faster paced, but I loved the pacing of the first season/ series, so that got me a little concerned-- such people likely have not been as into art house as I have been).

Taping Westworld...will watch it later.
Last season for The Magicians... and for Supernatural....2 of my favorite fun shows.
Also watching The Outsider , Prodigal Son, and Evil....all 3 are decent.
I think there are a few new things starting soon.....also waiting for a Discovery of Witches..season 2.

loving The New War Of The Worlds adaption by Fox/ Canal+ . Sci fi and drama do mix!

I though Westworld III (episode 1) looked fantastic but I still have no idea what it's about. Blade Runner and the sequel just nailed the whole android wants to be human 'thing' . I suppose its just the idea of evolution and survival of the species. I quite enjoyed it but never really been able to get that excided by it. Dramatically just too 'cold' to the point it turns me off a little

^^ An obnoxious revenue generator that end up turning people off. I rarely voew this site without Ad blocking software (I usually use the Opera browser, but I also have ad block for Safari when using Apple devices).

While I loved season one of Westworld, and enjoyed season two much more than most (as many found it too confusing --I didn't). so far I'm not enjoying this new season very much. It's like because of the complaints about the confusion before, they have tried to dumb it down with exposition dumps and more info that I want.   I'm finding the dialogue clunky, some seemingly to me silly action sequences. I love Maeve, even if I don't always like the dialogue, and Arnold continues to be a favourite of mine, I have high hopes for Vincent Cassel's character (Engerraund Serac). I will continue watching, and I'm still glad it's continuing, but I feel they may have listened to the criticisms too much and gone too far the other way. More mind-f**kery, less exposition I say.

I kind of feel now that it's just another dumb show, albeit a dumb show I am still rather enjoying (I don't rush to watch the latest anymore) -- unlike Doctor Who, which I gave up on.

The first season of Westworld was so magnificent, I felt. I'm feeling diminishing returns now, but I expect this season to improve for me and I might like it all more when I can finally binge it. Westworld works best when binge-watched for me.

EDIT: I listened to a newly released Richard Herring podcast with Charlie Brooker (of Black Mirror) yesterday, but as usual, Brooker ended up spending an inordinate time talking about sh*ts.

"Dark", on Netflix. A highly-rated, suberb production and an engaging look at "time", free-will, fate, and determinism. Two seasons, a third one coming. Look at the reviews on IMDB.

I just watched this, and it is SF at its darkest:

Wait a moment - are you telling me this is real?

I was going to suggest we are living in a Dark Sci-fi Comedic Tragedy. Five years ago, one could have published a novel and reported everything exactly as it is currently....

And the author would have been literally laughed at as a piss-poor writer unable to credibly present a realistic story.

^^^ I really enjoyed Dark as well.

Planning to watching the second series of Kingdom (a Korean historical zombie show) next.

I binged the sometimes quite dark Star Trek: Picard -- just finished episode 10. It had its flaws, but I loved it. It has heart, the character of Picard genuinely moved me, and 7 of 9 kicked ass. It was better than I expected.
