There stands Olias to outward to build a ship
Holding within all we hope to retain
The frame will be so built to challenge the universe
Clasped with the skins of the fish of the plain

I could do Yes in three - those top three you mention there (though my order would be 2, 3, 1).

20 is a lot. Some bands don't have that many songs even, at least not relased on album. But let's see. In no particular order:
A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers, Killer, Octopus, Arrow, When she Comes, Nutter Alert, Man-Erg, The Emperor In His War Room, Sleepwalkers, Lemmings, Still Life, Pioneers Over c, After the Flood, Ship of Fools, Every Bloody Emperor, White Hammer, Meurglys III - the Songwriter's Guild, House With No Door, Scorched Earth, Childlike Faith In Childhood's End.
There you are. And the band? Well, guess.

Easy... I love both bands - But prefer Genesis...

Genesis:

Stagnation/The Knife/The Fountain of Salmacis/Can Utility & the Coastliners/Suppers Ready/Dancing with the Moonlit Knight/Firth of Fifth/In the Cage/Fly on a windshield/Broadway melody../Dance on a Volcano/Mad Man Moon/Los Endos/One for the Vine/Blood on the Rooftops/Unquiet Slumbers - In that quiet earth/Down & Out/Burning Rope/Cul-de-sac/Dukes Travels

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Van der Graaf Generator

I think he was surrendering because you were able to find 20 wonderful songs by a different band, not because he didn't know the name of the band... I think... otherwise he should be banned from this forum after being tortured for a while!!!

Genesis:

Mad man moon, Carpet crawlers, Cinema show/Aisle of plenty, The lamia, Firth of Fifth, Dancing with the moonlit knight, Entangled, Ripples, Supper's ready, A trick of the tail, Stagnation, Musical box, Fountain of Salamis, Follow you follow me, Land of confusion, Squonk, Can Utility & the Coastliners, In the cage, Couting out time, One for the Vine, Blood on the Rooftops, Unquiet Slumbers, In that quiet earth

That's 23 songs that would get a **** or ***** rating from me, if we did that for songs (the first nine get five stars, and are listed in my list of +/- 170 all-time favourite pop/rock songs).

Peter Gabriel:

San Jacinto, Don't give up, Wallflower, Biko, Family snapshot, The rhythm of the heat, Blood of Eden, Here comes the flood, Mercy street, Suzane (***** all), Solsbury hill, Humdrum, Intruder, The family and the fishing net, Red rain, In your eyes, Sledgehammer, Father and Son, Darkness, Signal to noise (**** all without checking the albums to see obvious left-outs).
