debated how deep to go while taking 10 more minutes off of my life..
could have really gone deep into this.. but I'll keep it (relatively) short. What is not really known.. or perhaps understood is what Hitler and the Nazi's did was not just blame Jews.. blame only goes so far.. it was weaponized in the form of something that combat veterans understand all too well
hatred and then dehumanization.. easy to understand... it is much easier to kill when you see your target as ... well ... not human.
The Germans wrote the textbook on that on the national level in the 30's.. and we are exactly on the same path.. though thankfully constrained by our system and the differences that do exist from likely going any further. the fact they are so similar such give such pause to Americans. and it does to some.. but not enough..
There and then and slowly over a decade brainwashing otherwise good honest, deeply religious people with not merely a hatred of Slavic sub-species or Jews or simply.. those NOT them... but a complete lack of association of humanity with them. It is something that every military teaches their soldiers to a certain point... and it works to a certain degree I suppose. it does make it earlier though. Even if it might not stop the nightmares from coming later.
but to keep it short.. what worries me most about the rise of Trump.. well not really that.. it is his supporters.. are they could be taken completely right from that time frame. Seemingly zero lack of humanity or compassion for those different.
I see them post numbers and statistics of what Trump supposed has done since taking office.. but at what cost. Yes.. there is a cost.. their souls.. their humanity. We lock those different from us in cages for no other crime than wanting a better life.. we encourage those who aren't exactly stable of mind (ie many a Trump supporter seemingly) to think it right to kill hispanics and with a President who not merely condones it.. encourages it.
What we see now is bad enough.. in only a couple of years.. thus my completely on the mark post earlier that if our system was less solid, our checks and balances less concrete, that with another decade of brainwashing.. another decade of stirring hate and blame.. we in this country would likely find our selves exactly where Germany did and tossing those different into the incerators all while praising God and chanting America over All....
peace...
I have said many times (maybe not here, but maybe, this is a very long topic) that dehumanization is what I see happening, and how it's right out of the pages of military training...and the mixing up any religion into it makes it worse, another "difference," to point at....There are absolute parallels to that terrible place in human history happening now.

well.. work comes early.. and I think I have a celebratory beer to shotgun for the Nats.. congrats seem in order. First World Series!!!
anyhow.. well called if I say so myself... the true frontrunner has emerged.. and handling her very well.
She does own policy... and with a personal touch... nice to see her bring up the 2012 speech (you don't become rich by yourself).. that was in fact exactly what started my long conversion to her.
As was speculated, the rest of the candidates are really going after Warren tonight. However, in doing so they are giving her way more time to respond than anyone else. Unless they really throw her off her game, it’s hard to foresee how that ends up being winning math for the field.

Really? Someone with a race identity confusion issue? That's the best that can be put on the table? And there are some confused people who support her?

Amazing how two words can sum up an entire episode.

So, Michael McKinley, Senior Adviser to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, resigned last week. Why? Here is his testimony today:
"The timing of my resignation was the result of two overriding concerns: the failure, in my view, of the State Department to offer support to Foreign Service employees caught up in the Impeachment Inquiry on Ukraine; and, second, by what appears to be the utilization of our ambassadors overseas to advance domestic political objectives," McKinley said in prepared remarks.
"I was disturbed by the implication that foreign governments were being approached to procure negative information on political opponents," he said. "I was convinced that this would also have a serious impact on foreign service morale and the integrity of our work overseas."
Acting U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor left Ukraine for Washington, D.C., NBC News reports, after House Democratic leaders ask him to testify as part of their impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump. Taylor is on record saying:
“As I said on the phone, I think it's crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign.”
These are not Democratic operatives testifying, these are Republicans and longtime State civil servants.
Meanwhile, Trump has gone from batsh*t crazy to the edge of absurdity. Is this third grade letter something a President should write to a foreign leader? People support this ignoramus? "Don't be a tough guy"? "Don't be a fool"? "I will call you later"?
...a vigorous circular motion hitherto unknown to the people of this area, but destined to take the place of the mud shark in your mythology...
I can't wait till Shepherd Smith's contract with Fox runs out and he can join either CNN or MSNBC. He was the only news anchor at Fox to call Trump a liar and an a cheat on air. A man of real integrity who's always had my respect. Now I no longer have a reason to watch FOX, he was the only good thing on that Republican propaganda channel.

I guess that some would really love CNN when they have been exposed so many times. Oh, and Zucker is just so profound in his thinking.

Man do I love CNN. There are the perfect foil to Fox and they do it with truth and reality. But what do Trump supporters know about those two concepts?
