Oh, I think I just saw that the poll was up and didn't look at the exact title, I'd remembered the discussion before it was posted...My apologies to Heart, but still going with The Bangles.  Always like an underdog to the potentially most popular.

I voted for Ace of Cups, mainly because they're the only Psychedelic Rock band in my poll, although Heart comes a close second. Smile

Definitely check out the band I mentioned on the previous page, Mother Superior(who happen to be listed on this site). They sort of straddled the line between rock and prog but more importantly they were good. You can find them on youtube. Unfortunately, like Fanny, they never became very well known. The Shaggs are much more known which shows there's no justice in the world(well at least the music world)Wink

I never heard of the Ace of cups so I'll have to check them out.

You're right! Mother Superior are my kind of music. Thumbs Up

Yeah, I was quite a fan back in the day. I loved their raw edge. I fancied the drummer too!
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Ah, you could have put Fleetwood Mac in then and they would have won.

I know. That's why I mentioned in the first line of my thread the reason why I decided to include Heart in the poll. Wink

I'm glad I did include Heart because they've picked up three votes so far and they might go on to win the poll. Smile

Can Heart really by considered a "female rock band"? The classic line-up is two women and the rest are dudes. (I just noticed the OPs caveat. Sorry, if there is sausage in the stew, its sausage stew)

None of these really float my boat.

For original material I will take OOIOO all day long.

For cover bands, I really quite enjoy The Iron Maidens.

The top choice on this list for me is Heart, at least their earlier albums up to Dog and Butterfly.  Next would be The Bangles.

I also am a fan of "Warpaint" and "The Be Good Tonyas" who aren't on the list.  Not that I'm dissing your list, because it's fine, but since you put Heart on there, I will also mention "Mary's Danish" who are known more for the two women fronting the band.

They're three sisters who sing brilliant harmonies.

BTW this should have been in the general music section, hopefully it's gonna be moved there.

The main reason I didn't post it in the General Music Discussion Forum is I wasn't sure if I was supposed to post polls in there. Confused

you serious?
so makes more sense to make a poll not related to prog in the prog section? LOL
good job! Disapprove
I'm relatively new here. I'll get the hang of it eventually. Wink
