I included Heart in the poll on the grounds that Heart are best-known for the two Wilson sisters fronting the band.

The main reason I didn't post it in the General Music Discussion Forum is I wasn't sure if I was supposed to post polls in there.

I'll have to check out the Staves. I've never heard of them before. If they're a Folk band though, the chances are, I'll probably like them.

I'm relatively new here. I'll get the hang of it eventually.

That's another band I'd missed and I just discovered they've been around since 1977!

The top choice on this list for me is Heart, at least their earlier albums up to Dog and Butterfly. Next would be The Bangles.
I also am a fan of "Warpaint" and "The Be Good Tonyas" who aren't on the list. Not that I'm dissing your list, because it's fine, but since you put Heart on there, I will also mention "Mary's Danish" who are known more for the two women fronting the band.

Can Heart really by considered a "female rock band"? The classic line-up is two women and the rest are dudes. (I just noticed the OPs caveat. Sorry, if there is sausage in the stew, its sausage stew)
None of these really float my boat. For original material I will take OOIOO all day long. For cover bands, I really quite enjoy The Iron Maidens.

I know. That's why I mentioned in the first line of my thread the reason why I decided to include Heart in the poll. I'm glad I did include Heart because they've picked up three votes so far and they might go on to win the poll.
