The reason I asked the question is that I recently had oral surgery (now 2 teeth lighter). I played Roger Waters In The Flesh ... comfortably numb did not even describe it! The drilling seemed to coincide with the searing guitars and well, it DID take my mind off things. As for the second question ... probably Godspeed You Black Emperor's Yanqui UXO or Lift Your Skinny Fists ... or if I'm going to die quickly probably their EP Riot for New Zero Kanada Edited by felona |

Since you mention dentist, "Valium 10" by Hawkwind begins with a male voice saying: "Now, I don't want you to panic. Just lean back and relax", after which you can hear the sound of a dentist drill and someone shrieking and gurgling in pain. Probably not the best track to listen to before a visit to a dentist.

1. Dream Theater - Regression I would need all the relaxation I could get! 2. Yes - Close to the Edge I was recently thinking about what the last song I would want to listen to would be, and decided on CTTE. It's just somehow special to me. It makes me cry every time. |

Fantomas - Delirium Cordia, naturally.
Devil Doll - The Girl Who Was...Death Il Balletto Di Bronzo - Introduzione Well, i misread the question as these songs would probably scare the hell out of you under anasthetics. ![]() Edited by con safo |

(quoted by this post: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=7892&a mp;PN=1) my suggestion (the title is very adequate) is this album (cover again by Marcus Keef): Local Anaesthetic by Nirvana (not the Kurt Cobain band (bigger and better image avalaible here: http://www.sound.jp/hipgnosis/KEEF/KEEF_HTML/NIRVANA.html) goodbye |

To relax me during surgery (especially dentistry) Peter Merneger 'Astral Traveller' (imagine 1970's Tangerine Dream with David Gilmour on guitar and you'd get the right idea).
As the last piece of music to hear in your life - 'The Sentinel' by Pallas; after that, things can only get better ![]() |

the wonderful description of your first choice has inspired me listen to some samples asap as for the second ... that's HILARIOUS!!!!! Actually, I do have some Pallas ... not that one though ... too 80's for me ... later stuff is a bit of an improvement. .... EDIT - is that CD called Instinctive Traveller rather than Astral btw? What? I need to check ou this band...
For me, I'd says Tangerine Dream for both. Force Majeure for the first and Zeit for the second. Some Klaus Schulze might also be great... |
