Holger Czukay may be my hero, but he has a number of very lazy and unattractive album covers. I like the Echolyn cover, by the way.

@SillyPuppy:- I actually like Zarathustra's album, even if the cover is not that great.

Great album, but the cover is indeed questionable. I am not certain what to think of this album cover:

I've known a few kids not terribly much older than 10 who were so naturally gifted that they could run wings around whoever drew that. And sorry, but i just think it looks adolescent in concept and awkward in execution.

It strikes me there were quite a few of these subdued, BROWN, album covers around in the early seventies. |

I've probably said it before but I will say it again. The worst album cover is definitely Gong's Acid Motherhood. I won't even post the image Here. Google it at your own risk

@Imperial Zeppelin:- I totally agree with you - Gong's Acid Motherhood has to be one of the worst - if not THEE worst - Prog album covers of all time, and it's so goddamned awful that I dare not even post the image here.
Just to give you an idea of how truly awful the album cover is though, it features a pregnant and naked picture of Gong member Daevid Allen on the cover. To say it's not a pretty sight would be the understatement of the year!

I actually like that one. It's just so outrageous and over the top that I find it hilarious. I totally understand why you hate it! |

I would vote for the Picture of BIG FAT MAMMA on the original cover of PFM's Chocolate Kings
(US and UK cover is different). Thankfully it was very small on the cover (just not on the poster).

This is easily one of the BEST album covers I've ever seen! You have to laugh that anything that isn't immediately consumable by the average person is deemed pretentious and artsy. The same could be said for those very same people's attitudes in general regarding what constitutes artistic integrity (there's some pretentiousness for you).

Opinions differ, yet this is the second "pretentious" judgment I received here, such as, as if I despised everything similar. I gave few examples, you're the second person acting like you know that it is some sort of generalization made by me. It is not, I assure you. Should I do likewise for people who jump to sudden conclusions with VERY limited evidence, if that is evidence at all? I prefer not to. Yet, you can try to explain me what is the thing that makes this cover "fart" being one of the best cover arts for you. Thus I might apologize and delete the "f" letter I put in fron of the word "art"(?) You can save me from analyzing the lyrics and such, considering that you know the integrity of this art and how it is related to the album overall. My opinions do change sometimes, albeit highly unlikely on such things. |

Are people simply expressing an opinion that equates to...Cover A OFFENDS me ergo It's the worst cover? Art is as subjective as music. And the same argument is made time and time again on this site...

I think this shouldn't have turned into an argument. I expressed solely that this cover is a "work o' fart" for me, and called Leprous crap altogether. My only focus was the product(s).

This is on my favorite album cover list as well. Pretentious is another word for "not getting it."

Personally i love many KC covers but this one is just hideous for being generic after the brillianta covers like Larks Tongue and Lizard (Starless is a great album though)
