Did anyone record footage of a Sunday morning show on BBC2, in 1971, called Anatomy of Pop, featuring UK prog band Egg? Or does anyone know where i could find it?

The BBC had a habit of wiping tapes in those days, if it's not on YouTube then it might be gone.
I can't imagine many people had a video recorder in 1971 so unless it's been repeated, you might be unlucky there as well.

There's a chance they might still be using film, not video (both formats coexisted on TV for a certain time even into the eighties - at least where I worked from 1981-1987 that was common practice)

I was watching a programme about Apollo 11 last week on which they said the BBC wiped their coverage on the grounds that NASA had plenty.

One of my faves as well. I am always awed to think that a trio of 19-20 year olds in 1969 and 1970 put together the music that makes up those three albums (though Polite Force and Civil Surface were both released later).

Egg is easily in my top 3. I've emailed Dirk Campbell a few times (who is a total chad btw, he gives no f**ks about the trivality of fame, and completely dropped out of the race, denounced rock music to play flutes and world instruments). I wish there was more info on the internet about them, and yeah. Live recordings are very rare, there are a few bootlegs around on vinyl and I think one has been posted online. I'm a huge nut for Egg and I just wish there was more music they had because their style was like no other band.
Psychedelia and prog in an organ 3 piece virtuoso band? Oh yes baby.

What have you chatted to Dirk about if you don't mind me asking? I've watched many interviews with him and you're right, he's truly progressive, as he's moved on from Egg, like you said with his work in world music and doesn't seem too sentimental about his time with Egg.
