Anybody heard of Ulver? If so, what's your take on them? Personally, I think they're awesome and put out very original music, unlike anything I've ever heard. Their new album is suppose to be really good. I'm still waiting for it...stupid ass cduniverse.com... By the way, here's a link to a video from their new album, check it out, you may like it! http://media.theendrecords.com/Ulver_ItIsNotSound_55mb.MOV |

A terrific band that has gone through an impressive change of direction
over the years. They're debut Bergtatt was a very original album, combining clean sung folk music with harshly produced black metal, probably my favourite of theirs! Their second Kveldssanger is all-clean folk album with beautiful clean vocals. A very unexpected move from a black metal band, and a very enjoyable album with a dark mood. Their third Nattens Madrigal is a mercyless black metal outing with a typical harsh production. This album left me cold, but then I'm not a fan of BM. After these albums Ulver began to orientate towards the realms of electronica, compising several movie-soundtracks (my favourite being A Quick Fix of Melancholy). Their crowning electronica-achievement is arguably the outstanding Perdition city. Edited by Eemu Ranta |

I have the demo Vargnatt, and Perdition City. Both are impresive, even if Vargnatt could have better production It's very raw and yet still original. I just love the unique clean intros they have in a couple of songs. The acoustic instrumental is awesome as well. Perdition City, while in a whole different world to Vargnatt is great as well. The first song "Lost in Moments" is simply amazing. I remember laying in bed listening to it and getting the most wonderful sensations. Thanks for the video link. Downloading it now |
