They were doing that to divide the Democrat party so that Trump would win. It's called the spoiler effect. Think Ralph Nader or Ross Perot. So, yeah, it was to benefit Trump and no one else but Trump.

So, Mr. Aardvark, according to your new conspiracy theory-Russia bought Pro Hillary ads to benefit Trump.  That's right.  Some of the ads exalted Hillary Clinton.  Please explain how pro Hillary ads benefit Trump?

And while your at it, EXPLAIN how a total of $100,000 dollars of ads SPLIT amongst Hillary, Black Lives Matter, Trump, Jill Stein, among others benefit Trump only?  Out of the $100,000...$56,000 was spent AFTER The Election ,all the way thru May of 2017.

Mr. Aardvark, tell us, how $44,000 in ad money, Russia spent on Democrats, BLM, and Republicans overwhelmed the 1.2 Billion dollars Hillary Spent on her election?     Give us a peek at the innerworkings, gears and cogs, of your brand new conspiracy theory!Wink

Do you expect me to waste my time on this? It's obvious they were for Trump and that they were trying to divide the country. The ads were overwhelmingly anti-Clinton. The only one here who is enveloped in conspiracy theories is you!

There's been 150 pages of wasted time.......one more won't hurt to reply to her.

I really do not get the thought that buying ads on FB influenced any voting. No difference in someone reading an ad in the Washington Post or NY Times or Wikileaks....If a voter is not going to take the time during election time to research and watch debates, but use ads to make their mind up, I question if they should even be voting.

Trump won because Hillary ran a terrible campaign, she is insanely unlikable and a terrible person with a highly controversial past. Now way was she going to be the first woman POTUS.....The Russians did not need to buy any ads to tell me that. But that is my point, what the Russians might have done did not affect the outcome of the election.

Trump will win again because the Dems cannot field a formidable opponent and also he will win because of what he has done so far. Basically up-rooted Washington DC, it has been needed for years.

^ How exactly did he "uproot D.C."? He surrounds himself with old swamp monsters like Giuliani and Gingrich, to name just a few. Much of his cabinet is just more old dinosaurs. Nothing changed, the oil industry and the arms industry still run the show.
trump is just one more D.C. fat cat lining his pockets.

Frankly I think Trump has indeed been the most radical, uprooting, even revolutionary president we've had since... erm... FDR maybe.   The appalling thing is not Donald Trump, a classic American showman & snakeoil salesman, but rather the people who voted for him.

Yeah, but D.C. remains the same. The oil interests and the arms manufacturers pull the puppet strings. That is all still the same, nothing has changed a bit.

^ I hardly doubt these women are "old swamp monsters.." or "old dinosaurs".. All Presidents line their pockets while in DC. Trump already was a billionaire before being elected to the White House, most Presidents become filthy rich after they leave because of being President.....$15K a plate lunch speeches.

"At the beginning of the third year of his first term as president, Trump has seven female top advisers, as compared to five for Obama, three for Bush, and five for Clinton at that point. He had eight as of December 2018, when United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley departed the administration.

The top advisers are White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway; CIA Director Gina Haspel, Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen, senior adviser Ivanka Trump, Director of Legislative Affairs Shahira Knight, and Director of Strategic Communications Mercedes Schlapp.

Trump reportedly will also nominate more women to powerful positions soon, such as U.S. Ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft for U.N. ambassador and U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jessie Liu for associate attorney general, a key post currently held by Rod Rosenstein."

But once again, DC still remains the same, the billion dollar lobbyists from the oil industry, the arms industry, the pharmaceutical drug industry and all of the other moneyed interests are still in charge, if anything, since their fellow fat cat got in, now more than ever.
Just look at trump's inner circle; giuliani, gingrich, pence formerly bannon, sessions and christie, all of them well connected long time DC power brokers.

And uproot DC, my ass. He's turned it from a "swamp" into a deluge of garbage.

Fox News is sort of cherry-picking by limiting it to the "beginning of the third year." Nonetheless, without addressing the quality of his choices, he's only slightly better than Bush as a percentage of women in cabinet positions.

But the real elephant in the room: lobbyists.

^ The article is not reporting history, but what the number of females he has at that point as compared to the past administrations of same time frame.
I don't see it as a cherry pick........What's the problem with President Trump hiring women for these powerful positions?

Well we are both right and possibly both wrong......Do you honestly think those type of people will ever not be present in DC? People are so insanely fixated on what Russia might have done to affect the outcome of the election, which is garbage, that these exact lobbyist are what affect elections but yet for the most part everyone is fine with it.
If Russia or China or FB influenced your choice to vote for Hillary or Trump, then shame on you, you fell for it hook, line and sinker. There is not a single outside source or publication that influences my voting decisions. Watch the debates, read about their positions and make your choice.....It's pretty simple.

Lets not fool ourselves, corporate America has massive influence in running this country. I am perfectly fine with this, it has been more than working fine for the past 200+ years. If I have to chose where I think the most intelligent people are, politicians or corporate environment, that's too easy.

There is nothing new about fat cat trump. In many ways he is just George W part II. Here are the many similarities between trump and W.

Surrounded by swamp dinosaur advisers. For trump thats giuliani, gingrich etc, for W that was rumsfield, cheney etc.

Tax cut for the wealthy leads to increased national debt for the next generation.

Cut restrictions on corporate pollution for short term profits now, but much more expensive clean up later.

Favors antiquated energy sources such as coal and oil.

Very much in favor with billionaire oil lobbyists, arms dealers, insurance companies and legal drug dealers.

Appeal based on personal charisma rather than previous accomplishments as a public servant.

No military service

Both appeal to a very similar demographic, particularly those who didn't quite make it to college.

There is more, but that's enough for now.

Cindy O's Response- Obama surrounded by Hillary Swamp cretures, while giving Russia America's uranium.

Tax cut for the wealthy leads to increased national debt for the next generation.

Cindy O's Response- I'm not wealthy. Cut my Taxes by a few thousand dollars.  By May of 2011, Obama had added almost 2 Trillion more in National Dept than Trump has to date.

Cut restrictions on corporate pollution for short term profits now, but much more expensive clean up later.

Cindy O's Response- Democrat led Cities like San Francisco got tons of hyper-dermic needles and human fecal matter strewn on their city streets. Gives a whole, different meaning to The Streets of San Francisco.   Besides that, Democrat led Cities have the highest murder and rape rates.

Favors antiquated energy sources such as coal and oil.
Cindy O's Response- Trump favors 4th generation Nuclear power which has a ZERO carbon footprint.  How ya going to fly a jet?  On a battery?

Very much in favor with billionaire oil lobbyists, arms dealers, insurance companies and legal drug dealers.

Cindy O's Response-  All Time High Oil prices during Obama's administration. Perhaps you remember Oct 14, when I predicted Oil prices would drop like a rock. Oil companies love low oil prices.LOL  No new wars.  The insurance companies hate Trump and love Obama.  Go look at insurance stock price charts.   Last week, Trump convinced a drug company to donate 200,000 prescriptions of a $20,000 a year anti-HIV drug, for  the next 11 years.

Appeal based on personal charisma rather than previous accomplishments as a public servant.

Cindy O's Response-  I don't like Trump's personality.  I love Trump's economy.  Trump destroyed ISIS. No New WARs.  Lowest unemployment rate since the 60's.  Rising wages.  No more Obama care penalty.

No military service
Cindy O's Response.  Who cares?   Trump doesn't start WARS like Bush and Obama.    Which branch of the military did Obama serve in?

Both appeal to a very similar demographic, particularly those who didn't quite make it to college.

Cindy O's Response -   Trump appeals to folks with Bachelors of Science but not to Bachelors of Arts.  Trump appeals to reality-fact based folks.  Trump doesn't appeal to folks ruled by feelings.    You can't have it both ways Easy Money.  Unless you're arguing, millionaires and Billionaires don't go to college.  While, welfare mama's work on master degrees.

This is in many cases true.  On the other hand, us San Franciscans can afford it, can't we.

So I see from your (ompha) responses that you don't find much difference between W and trump either.
Is there any difference except the fact that trump hasn't stumbled into a war yet? Other than that, not much difference at all.
W inherited a successful economy too, he just had more time to screw it up.
W's third year mark is fairly similar to trump's except for allowing us to be attacked on our soil.
Policy wise there is not much difference between the two.
