I just found this. It's interesting. You have to wade through a bunch of solo artists like Madonna, Celine Dion, etc. But for bands #1 is The Beatles(obviously right where they should be). #2 Led Zeppelin - no surprise to anyone. #3 Pink Floyd - Wow, Dellinger will be happy. #4 Queen - good to see them on there. #5 AC/DC - surprised to see them ahead of The Rolling Stones. And then, of course, the Stones at 6. So again. 1. The Beatles 2. Led Zeppelin 3. Pink Floyd 4. Queen 5. AC/DC |

These lists are very rubbery. I remember in the early 80s that it was regularly stated in the press that Jethro Tull had sold "over 60 million albums"...35 years later it is still stated in the media that Tull has sold "over 60 million albums". So they haven't sold any more (million) albums since the early '80s? Rubbish! You would have expected that with CD album sales they would be well over that 60 million album figure......nearing 80-100 million. |

Yeah everyone wants their favorite to be higher on the list. Heck I'd like to see Frank Zappa and Steely Dan both in the top 5, but it is what it is. Love The Beatles and Queen, so I'm good with it.
