I just felt like posting a song which I recently heard. One of the most beautiful songs and really sad.
White willow - silver and gold. Please post similar songs and share.

I hadn't heard it before (or actually, I think I had), but it sounds like a pretty folk ballad that put me somewhat in mind of Espers, which was recommended to me in a topic I made about Fragile, melancholic, or gentle folk music (CLICK) (some of that might fit the bill). I'll post a song that was recommended to me there: EDIT: While not very like that White Willow, I'll post a favourite of my sad beautiful songs: Edited by Logan - March 26 2019 at 16:08 |

I made a playlist called the "Beautiful Sadness" currently with 30 tracks. It's definitely one of my favorite playlists, and I'm hoping to air a radio program with the theme in the near future.. My fave on the list is VDGG's "House With No Door" (already posted above). Here's a couple more I really like that have made me tear up a time or two: (one prog, and one not)... Too many to count, but not much in the prog world.
Here's a couple absolute beauts with at least a tenuous prog-ish connection, one each from side projects by lesser known members of the Moody Blues. Graeme Edge Band - Human https://youtu.be/avIP5E1sbkk Ray Thomas - Hey Mama Life https://youtu.be/o8__JjS87UM Edited by Fischman - March 26 2019 at 19:34 |

Guys I forgot about Kamelot's Anthem. You need to listen to it. It is by far from the saddest songs I have ever heard.

The phyrigian mode is to despair as the lydian mode is to hope. I got you, Opeth Damnation - to get rid the disease is the perfect despair/melancholic vibe you can possibly get. the key to this: Phrygian mode.
