There was one primary in particular during the time I lived in Nashville (heavy Democratic area of TN) where the lines were hours long. This does not work well for those in the lower working income brackets (and mostly Democrats). They also had a lot less voting places than ever before. I was lucky to only have to wait an hour, but after me, I heard from neighbors they had to wait for 4 hours. Some of the suppression is very subtle. Apathy doesn't help and I'm sure that in other parts of the state there was much more overt suppression.

Right you are. There were also less voting booths available, now that the coffee has kicked in, I remember that as well.

Voter convenience and comfort is an increasingly concerning matter, it should be quick and simple whenever possible. Oregon has vote by mail only, correct? I wonder if making that mandatory in certain areas would improve the situation and increase vote count.

Essentially, vote by mail...either USPS or boxes conveniently located all over that you can drop your ballot into. Amazingly easy! Cuts on costly machinery all over the place too.

Not so much if you live in a state with a lot of Rapepublican cheating like Georgia. We have a runoff going on ending next Tuesday. You have to go for advance voting, but I stick with the local church (yech) because it's on the way to the bus stop...

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

It does seem as though there is a church on every corner in the south...Only times I ever went into them there was to vote as well, except for one memorial service for my very sweet elderly next door neighbor. Scary places!

yep... no surprise that some of the brightest and most talented financial and tech investigators this country has are working on his team.... like most people (except Trump voter of course) he saw all the smoke we did and was probably smart enough to know that only thing creates that much smoke.. a f**king fire hahah.
At this point I can probably guess what Mueller is going to find, what most of us suspect was always the case, he is financially beholden/propped up by the Russians. A crime? Debatable.. but as we have all talked about.. often it isn't teh crime that gets you.. it is lying about about it or the coverup that gets you.
Pretty much would be the final nail in any chances he has to win reelection. He might even resign if he suspects he was damaged enough to get primary'd out in 2020.. which would be a dubious first in our nations history. I'm not sure Trump and his ego would take the chance of that if the sh*t really hit the fan. Don't see him being impeached however.. even the Democrats are not that stupid. He already has one foot in teh grave for 2020.. anything Mueller finds of substance will be enough to turn off all but his hard core supporters. 35% is not far off of what he has now ... but it gets you Mondale'd in a general election which funnily enough.. Mondale at 40% in '84 might do better than Trump will do in 2020.

This might seem ... erm ... interesting ... on the surface, but ultimately it probably won't lead to anything. After all, haven't we thought on an almost weekly basis for the last 2 years: that's it, Trump's done? It's probably just another minor road bump, as always.

hardly.. for if you read my 2020 election preview one thing should have been clear. Trump won because the stars aligned for him. ie.. he got Hillary as an opponent and ran as an outsider who would fix the problems we have where a normal politican was part of the problem.
obviously he isn't getting Clinton to run against in 2020.. someone about as unpopular as he was (thus the 3rd party votes that did swing the eletion) AND .. well.. Trump instead of fixing problems... has prepetuated the problems we did have.. and added a whole slew of new ones.
Put in in context... if Mueller does find Trump did half of what many think he did.. will it change the opinions of his hard core supporters? Of course not.. but can it ... will it... change the opinions of those pragmatic who aren't racists, bigots and nativists who voted for Trump as the best of two evils. I think it will.. the midterms last month were proof enough of that
so even if Trump loses 5 points of support.. which Muellers eventual finding are likely to do, on top of everything else that has happened in the last couple of years.. to say nothing of what might come in the next two years... like a recession or economic downturn..
this is what he is facing.. if he loses even a modest amount of his support (or as in 2018) apathetic Democrats turn out in force
5 points of swing.. what does that look like...

yeah... it seems some have not got their heads wrapped around the notion of easy voting.. and that the west does their voting differently than in the east.
and speaking of the pot calling the kettle black.. and their politically motivated fears of (unfounded) voter fraud... to say nothing of why they hit on that.. while offering zero proof....to excuse their tactics subtle (and unsubtle) attempts at voter suppression.
this emerging story is simply priceless...
