Peter Gabriel: "Melt"
No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

Ultravox - 'Vienna' with its cold atnosphere and viberant synth/keyboard/violin by Kevin Curry, a very influential album.

One of my favorites ..that double lp...came out as one at one time.

No, I only wink in everyday life when I've got a speck of dust in my eye. Wink

Remain in Light, Hounds of Love or Spirit of Eden. Choosing between these is like choosing my favourite son.

Nice list.

Voting for Rush is too easy for me, so I'll vote Tin Drum by Japan, although it's jostling for top spot with hounds of Love, Secrets of the Beehive & Spirit of Eden.

Surely ELPowell is symphonic prog?? The Score, Touch & Go & Mars are hardly prog pop or Art Rock. IMO.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I almost picked Frankie Goes to Hollywood........but Rush Signals is a massive album, it has large melons but is not blonde.

I am not reviving any old polls either.

Are you a winking kind of guy in every day life?

Why are you quoting me again?
You are not reviving old polls, you are only reviving your own. You know, some of them have run their course. Let it go...

If I revive an old poll, it means two things - I missed it the first time and I think it is a nice poll.

I don't think I've ever revived my own polls though.

I actually know most of the albums in this poll, which makes a nice change, and with a sense of dogged determination, I'm voting for Kate Bush. Smile

That being said, when confronted with a list such as this, I wonder how anyone can still say that the Eighties were a bad time for music. So much great stuff was released in that decade! I think The Stranglers, Duran Duran and Siouxsie and the Banshees would also deserve a mention.

Indeed.

I would urge anyone who disses Duran Duran to listen to this:https://youtu.be/MCF2nMrQde8

I'll go with one of the underdogs that won't get many votes on this site.

I'm between "Love Over Gold" and "The Seeds Of Love".

I'm giving the edge to Dire Straits for an almost perfect album ("Industrial Disease" kinda ruins the mood a little, but it's a hell of a record anyway).

Other favourites of mine which I believe will have some votes are: Discipline, Remain In Light, Spirit Of Eden (objectively, my favourite among the 24),Melt, Hounds Of Love and Secrets Of The Beehive (this last one right up there with Spirit Of Eden)
