natural hippie forests were cut down in the '80s by Reagan and Thatcher, but now that demand is growing again new plantations are popping up all over the globe, especially in Portugal
luckily seeds are easily available here since the plants were still grown in isolation for the 45rpm vinyl that was extracted from the stem, containing natural reverb and delay

He's cool bc he does some stuff that's unusual for the genre. Particularly this decade.

sounds good, there are surprisingly few of them changing the game, but then again a lot of attempts come out schmaltzy or gimmicky
I know there was one guy playing ragas on the piano, and there's some interesting stuff with Indian percussion but that's basically it...
from what I understand the popularity of the style is dwindling in India, which might also lead to stagnation of course

Almost all of the guitarists alter the instrument drastically. This doesn't always mean much to the listener, however. Bhattacharya can be schmaltzy when he leaves the ragasphere. I'd suggest Slide Guitar Rages from Dusk Until Dawn, though, because the non-raga-like stuff he does is very tasteful and subtle. His daughter Anandi's music ain't bad either.

nice, I'll remember that
come to think of it, have you heard Ghazal? not exactly experimental, but at least the mix with Persian classical is something different
